As was posted in the facebook group tonight, one of our club members has had a major house fire. Just got off the phone from Jamie aka Roadblok. He and his mom are both ok as neither of them were home at the time. They do not currently know the cause, but he did say about half the house is gone.
No house insurance so they are in a bad way at the moment while they try and figure out what to do. They are currently staying at his sister's house. So lets all keep them in our thoughts and prayers tonight.

I went thru that in 1999. I understand what they must be going thru. It took us 9 months to get everything back to normal. We had insurance...I can't even imagine how difficult this will be without insurance.
Praying for them!

James did text me saying he want to do the recovery all on his own, Kind of thick headed I would say. If he would give a small list of needed items, I am sure the members will help them out. I am in with either slightly used stuff or donation.
Sad to see his truck for sale. Maybe we can collect at the gathering and either give directly to him or deliver. Provided that we kidnap them to the gathering.
James the meal for your family would be free--on me!

Right now they are staying at his sisters house, but not sure what they will do long term. Not a good situation to be in that's for sure. I feel very bad for him, he is a great guy!

Thanks for the support guys. It's great to know that people care.
Oh, Roy, stuff it! :p I'm not asking for help because I don't want to feel like a charity case, even though I am. It's my stubborn side. After all, I haven't given up and/or asked for things since my motorcycle accident leaving me disabled.
Right now, my mother and I need to figure out what is happening with the house and where we are going to live. I have a bad feeling that the house is a complete write off. Since there was no insurance we are trying to look into the possibility of a developer buying the property and do whatever with it to get money for a new house. Anyways, like Gadget has said, we are currently staying at my sisters apartment temporarily.
Yes, the truck might be up for sale. It is tentative right now. I'd rather keep it as I've always wanted a hummer and I've put work into it and money. If however it comes down to it that it needs to be sold to have at least a little bit of a down payment on a new house, then I'll sell it. I'd rather have a place to live than a vehicle that won't do me any good.

Glad to see you popped on here Jamie. Hope you guys are doing ok under the circumstances. Like the others, I wish there was a way I could help. In your current situation, stick the stubborn side in the closet, and take all the help you can get!
