Alternator question

Post by Monk »

Ok, I have 1996 h1 N/A 6.5

So my alternator died, (I unplug battery and down to 7volts)

I go to my local parts store, and say 96 hummer 6.5 N/A and I get this alternator

What's with the different ears?

I then tell another parts store 95 6.5 they give me a cross which has same bolts as first

Does turbos have those flater ears? My type is right across from each other,

My parts store said the 5.7 alternators "looked" the same so they will bring in to see Monday, but Shezzzz figured

Be easier then this,

Would anyone know if the gassers would fit? I worry about tach reading, if pulley is different ? I can use my old one ,

Check for an alternator for a 95 Chevy G-3500 van it should have the right alternator

Am general says it's discontinued. Actually Napa said they can get a Wilson cross but a week to get,.

I drive daily so I took to a electric shop and within 2 hrs I had back in my hand!! Now sits at 14.2 v :)

Happy ending
