Hello gents, I am looking for the original manufacturer for the piano hinges which attach the rear doors on my 2002 wagon. I see that they are about $300 USD each from AM General, perhaps they are available elsewhere?
Any insight would be appreciated.

you can measure an cut your own by buying a 7 ft hinge from Bolts Plus. I have seen people will replicate oem!

After almost 10 years with very little production, I would think the line will have been replaced. Finding a close replacement and getting it machined is the next alternative

Yes, as I expected. I have seen a few stainless hinges installed, not a big fan of a small bit of stainless on the back end of the vehicle. I am going to continue to look for aluminum hinges, as close to the original thickness, width, and style..
When I have success I will definetly put you all on to them. A lot of the wagons I have looked at have similar issues with the hinges corroding or disintegrating. May be the steel rod through the aluminum hinge?
Thanks for your input guys.

As Sub has mentioned, You can get a stainless steel piano hinge for less then $100 from Bolts Plus. I believe the open messurement for the hinge is about 3". Stock is a bit more. I plan on doing the change and I beleive its just a matter of drilling holes into the new hinge to match the stock. A 6ft length of hinge should be good.

Derek wants the alum hinge, not stainless, trying to keep the look OEM I think
I can get 4" alum hinge,1/4" pin,with 2" knuckles,
OEM has 1/2 knuckles
Planning on investing some time in the shop machining these soon.

Two differences from OEM,
1) not as thk so Counterbores are not needed
2) hinge is 2" sections not 1/2 as original
$100. per hinge!
Order now if you need them, have 6 in stock,
Right side has the electrical port for the door locks,
