Ok Rhino just had 3rd failure of this system. Problem is usually found at the resistor pack and its plug (just before it creates a burning wire smell ,the plug melting) Pack is located on passenger side up under glove box. Pack is held by two screwsonce out inspect plug and pack especially the RED wire if melted then after separating plug from pack clean pack and either replace wiring harness or just the one spade clip test and re install .Our first two packs were a warranty replacement and a shop replacement . this one was way cheaper.

GM Recalls Hummers to Fix Fan Controls That Can OverheatBy The Associated PressJul 8, 2015, 5:53 PM
DETROIT — General Motors is recalling more than 196,000 Hummer SUVs worldwide because the ventilation fan motor controls can overheat and start a fire.
The recall, one of two announced Wednesday, covers the 2006 to 2010 Hummer H3 and the 2009 and 2010 H3T.
The company says the module that controls the heating and air conditioning blower motor speed can overheat when operated for a long time, melting nearby plastic and increasing the risk of a fire. The company says it has reports of 42 fires, including three that caused minor burns.
Dealers will replace the faulty module and wiring harness at no cost to owners.

There is no fix at this time so don't rush out to your dealer hoping they will perform the repair. GM is having to design and make a new resistor pack and wiring harness.

Just had the blower harness replaced on my 2010 H3 Alpha this week as it quit. This cost quite a bit! $500+
No mention of a recall or warranty coverage from them. Capital Buick GM Edmonton.
I will be heading right back down there to ask about this.
They will never see my H1 again and...Damn they have my H2 in there right now!!!
This dealership is going down hill fast with me!
Thanks for the heads up guys,
Derek
