Wiper parking position / Set Screw? Wiper motor drive

Ok it appears we can only add images to certain sections on here so I moved my post here...
 
Guys my wipers were parking on the left, basically right in the middle of my view. So after 2 years of cursing and procrastination I just repositioned my wipers to properly park on the right following the information in the below post on the HKB. This is a bang on post so if you have an issue it is very accurate and realistic. The nut is a 13 mm and a real bugger to get at but with patience is very doable. One thing is you will need a medium sized vice grip to hold the arm connection to tighten up the main nut as the motor will rotate and your nut will simply roll to the other side.

The nut had not come loose and for some reason the previous owner simply had them parking in the middle of the windshield. Possibly left that way after a motor change out. (pun intended)
 
Does anyone know what the screw on drive mechanism does? It looks like some kind of adjuster or plug. Mine was barely snug and made no noticeable difference in the parking position when rotated. I left it snugged up a bit before putting everything back together.

One time Had a drivers arm go out but the spline on the arm rubbed smooth, so scratched the dirt in the splines and worked till my new arms came in,..,

Lol, I wanna hear more story's on easy a job was, hehehe

I'm sure (like you) our patience get tested when we work on our babies....

And zero clue on that screw , careful ,lol, don't turn it, or a wheel can fall off , haha

Pulling all this stuff down was less of a pain than I thought. The speaker pod unplugs from the amp and comes down with 4 bolts. ...although I had to cut the power wire for the dome light to get the top console fully down. The dome light now has a longer wire and connector to remove the console easier next time. As you all likely know already the damn cheap ass plastic the interior trim is made from breaks to bits when you look at it wrong. So I have some repairing to do on some screw locations. I think over tightening the screws is the big no no with this junk. I used silicone spray lube to get rid of the squeaks from the trim pieces rattling around. There are lots of posts on the forums for repairing these pieces. Frankly it is disgraceful AMG put in such garbage trim material.

Just going to patch it all up till I get it all repaired, leather wrapped and re-installed professionally...I think it will be cheaper than replacing it with the same factory garbage.... next year.

As far a the wiper motor work, it is just a matter of being in one of the most uncomfortable positions imaginable with a seat belt latch stuck in your butt for as long as you can take it before you take a break and have a beer. Then back in you go and get a few more turns on the nut!
