Air from gearbox

I'm not sure if it's normal or not but I noticed air coming out of the gearbox...seems like there is a fan blowing air up. The air is more toward the gearbox controller (not much from the offroad controller). It started off cool and then a bit warm air.
Is that normal? I don't think I've ever felt any air from there. Did something loosen up from under blowing air up

It will keep you warm in winter LOL
If you are talking about the shifter boot,, its normal.
When im on the highway it blasts hot air up through the shift boot.
You can play around with the rubber shroud underneath the shifter to limit the air flow.

Yes it's warm air from shifter area. I've never noticed it b4 and felt it today so wasn't sure if some hose came loose or something

Haha, it's our version of extra heat!! Hehe
I like that breeze on my hand in winter, but in the summer I rest a rag on it to keep my a/c needing t work less...
Basically your linkage boot is toast, it's not bad, and actually some days I feel a breeze and others I don't,..,lol
I wish our shift was more like the h2 that moves with handle instead of a open track for us.
I'll try to find the part I mean, but honestly I wouldn't worry

There's also a moister shifter boot

Im sure roy can get, but honestly it's just a boot under the shifter this all.
Lol in my "cheap" mood, I tryed duct tape when I crawled under my truck years ago, (yup, red green was my idol"
Oh, and updated to today, tape peeled off heat blows in here and there, hehe
I swore I was the only one it annoyed ,
Then on top I bought rubber weather strips (Home Depot) and butted from each side to keep the flow lower,
And on the high/low shift I put a strip right on the line as use very little

So basically if I leave it as is, nothing can go wrong or lead to anything else breaking down (domino effect)?? I can live w air coming out of the shifter

Absolutely nothing will go wrong, it's just heat from the exhaust pipe, that "up drafts"into the cab.
Lol after a few weeks you won't even notice it,
Very very common issue,
