hey eveybody, picking up a 2007 H3 tomorrow. woohoo. not sure about shifting from AWD to 4high and 4low. i took a gander through the manual download but i'm still scratching my head. yes, awd is for 90% of conditons i'll find on my daily commute. but after that i'm not sure about top speeds for the other two options as well as best way to shift between them. in park? at what speed etc. i dont' wanna crap the tranny out . so help a newbie out and give me some advice "shifting for dummies101".....lol

Going from high range to low, I believe you should be in neutral at a stand still. As for high range shifting, best let an H3 driver set you straight.
Welcome aboard. Chat is a tad slow but you will eventually get good results.

Hey congrats on your H3

4 high for snow and light off roading, can which to high at any speed.

4 low for climbing rocks, going through mud and such. Which to neutral before pressing 4 low

Otherwise just leave it in normal all wheel. If you have a locking diff then 5kms or less before engaging and only use for low speeds.

nicely explained..makes sense to me now...heard that top speed for 4high was around 80k? the wife wanted to go on a road trip up to a beach we used to go to on our goldwing. she said we could take all the backroads we used to.....my reply? why would you want to take a road.....lol?

I’ve done 100km in 4high with no problems, ideally if you’re traveling at those speeds then road conditions must be good and then no need for 4high.

Road? My friend, you have a hummer. You go wherever you want haha.
