Chips

Has anyone ever installed a chip to increase fuel savings and power? There is one on ebay that claims to do both with a 100% money back guarantee including refunding of shipping costs. What's the scoop? With high gas costs, I am looking at trying the chip or a Vortex on the air intake. The one I am looking at is called a Real Performcne Chip and is listed on ebay by poweruptuning.
They state they have done a lot of research and that they are a family run company. Now I am not naive and I usually don't trust anything I read on the internet, but they sound legitimate.

Thanks Crebbin,
I too am always skeptical; however, I really am optimistic that someone somewhere will invent something that will help us out with fuel economy. I love my Hummer H2, but I really don't like filling her up when gas costs $1.40/litre. I keep telling myself that it's all relative that I would be paying more to fill up my Jeep Grand Cherokee as well, but it still hurts to pay over $100.00 for a tank of gas. Anyone try the vortex that increases the air intake???

all of them are junk... I have tried them!
don't waste your money, some sellers with refund you the money others will be pricks!
MOD the truck instead, I have done a new intake, noticed a bit difference, doing the throttle body spacer next, exhaust is also on it's way. I listen to Wise old whitehumh2, change my plugs and wires as well new Royal Purple engine oil, diff oil, and power steering, need to still do transmission and transfer case, also need to change the damn fuel filter, if I can find it...
those chips are really not worth the time or the multiple $20s you will spend.
take it from me.

Forget these Vortex and other metal gadgets, Buy the Throttle Body spacer from Airaid, it is call Poweraid
http://www.airaid.com/Spacers.aspx
you will be much happier but you will also need....
http://www.airaid.com/ProductDetail.asp ... ID=200-983
this is so the Air intake hose will not hit the Rad Fan...
You will notice a big difference with this but the total cost will be over $300 from Performance Improvements, don't worry you will make that back in no time.

Thanks dwaxman1,
It sounds like you have done some pretty impressive mods to your Hummer. Have you realized savings in fuel? Where the mods as easy as they claim?

Dwaxman1,
Why did whitehumhw tell you to change the plugs and wire and fluids?

ok, here goes, so far I have done everything myself or with a bit of help, everything is pretty easy as long as you don;t mind getting dirty, as well these forums help if you get stuck, someone on the forums have been stuck before and this is one of the reasons we are here to help.
the exhaust and leveling kit will be done at a shop, only because I just don;t have that much space to lift the rig up to work under it..
