Welcome H3,

You probably are the youngest member at CHC, but we won't hold it against you!!!  There are many places to offroad in Ontario and around North America; however, there doesn't seem to be much winter offroading.  Look at the events section and keep your eyes open for postings of scouting trips.  Otherwise, resist the temptation to drive off road just because you can!  A turkey ran me off the road and I drove into a 10 high snow bank in between the tree and hydro pole, but I hit the guide wire and did some damage to my baby.  You learn quickly, HUMMER PARTS ARE EXPENSIVE!!!!

So, an hour north of Toronto would put you around Barrie?<img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='???' />  I'm from Parry Sound.

Ryan,

I really enjoy your enthusiasm for your Hummer and offroading; however, be careful about what you do and what your expectations are when offroading.  Although "traversing 60 degree inclines" sounds "uber-awesome" it can be very dangerous and tricky.  I would suggest contacting Norm and asking if he might put on a "clinic" so you (am I) as well as many others can learn about what a Hummer can truly do.  If not that, then look for a scouting excursion with some of the really experienced drivers and they can teach you on the trail about how to drive your Hummer and come out of the bush in one piece.  I'd hate to see you wreck your Hummer with it being so new to you and all.  I'm just speaking from experience as I too was once 17 and invincible (although that was many, many years ago now) and I wrecked a car by being foolish...never mind almost killing myself!!!  Learn to enjoy your Hummer so that you can get the most out of it and live a long time to enjoy the ride!!

Patrick

PS....If I ever find the "turkey" who drove me off the road.....I will kill him, cook him and feed him to my dogs!!

You can experience the Dubai sand dunes not far from here in Michigan.

A bunch of our guys went down.

You can find details and pics by looking at the threads with the title "Michigan" in the Meets and Events section.
