MORE power needed

Post by dwaxman1 »

So I am looking for more power from my 6.5L TD

I think first I will do the CATback 4" exhaust, not sure if I want to do the "off road" pipe and remove the Cat...

then a Computer swap, not sure if it will be Heath, Predator, or SS diesel, all seem to have their advantages

then I will be looking for an intercooler, but I think the 2" lift needs to be installed first..

Suggestions or other ideas??

What has worked for you??

Cat doesn't really do anything in my opinion and having a muffler or not doesn't seem to change the sound much. I did my e-test with not CAT or Muffler and passed with flying colors!! this was WITH it hooked to a diesel e-test machine. I then added a performance muffler and it really didn't change the noise much at all.

Just the magnaflow muffler and snorkeled out the side. Same setup that you saw in South Bend.

Nope, I am pretty sure I don't. Cat only helps with emissions I believe.

hey derek,

so i am doing the same to my truck right now and this is what i am in the process of installing

SSDiesel fuel miser injectors +25HP

Feed the beast fuel line upgrade(supposed to improve throttle response)

water methanol injection (acts like intercooler and adds power) i am using a cooling mist kit with there cmgs controller that doubles as a boost gauge and can also connect a pyrometer probe.

I am also installing a provent200 in between the cdr valve and the intake to help pull the oil vapor out of the intake air.

for gauges i am trying out glowshift, they are reasonably priced, include all the sending units as well and ship for free. i am installing a 3 in 1 for egt, temp and boost, a oil pressure and a trans temp( i am using a multi position rotary switch with the trans temp and putting probes in the trans, tcase and maybe the diffs or power steering...

I am mounting 3 of the guages where the AC controls are, and the ac controls are going in the cd changer location. the 3 in 1 is going up along the top of the dash, maybe on the center pillar.

if Derek isnt interested in that used predator stuff, i definetely would be, i would even be willing to buy it all and split it up if people wanted only the odd part...

ill try to get some pics this weekend of what i am doing
