Moab Trips and how to get there

Post by Hesh »

Ive been wondering how a lot of us Canucks with H1's get our rigs to Moab, and whether most of you guys drive em there, or have em towed/trailered down? Im contemplating a future trip to Moab, but from Southern Manitoba, it is a good long haul, and Im unsure if it is advisable, as I remember reading these trucks do not do great on the highway, and need frequent cool down periods, etc?

Anyone have any insight?

Need a few trucks at once, but hire a vehicle hauler to pick up in the states, and fly there.Await the truck and have fun.Repeat on the way home.

Or take a few extra days and drive there.Just do not push the speed. On this way, you will get tired of driving by the time you get home.

For me, I calculated about 40 hours to get there.Way too much time on your butt!!!Tony and myself usually put on 14-20 hours one way to get to a few events.Any more time then that is painful .

Any guess as to what the general going rate is for vehicle haulers charge? Do they charge by the hour, mile, day, etc?

Ideally that's how I'd like to get it there, but I have a feeling theyd be stupid expensive (more than the trip itself lol)

Do not quote me , but I thought I heard a figure $4500 from Indiana to Moab and return --for 3 trucks so $1500 each
