OH OH

Post by AmpGramp »

Got a hole in my rad and the vehicle over heated. Not for long as I pulled over right away.

Had a new rad put in and now I find it over heats easily. Alos the oil pressure is lower on the gauge than it use to be. but still with in limits.

The vehicle has 70.000 miles on the odometer. Mostly highway miles. I woul like to put the cat engine in.

I can have it done in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary or Winnipeg. Any suggestions as who to use ?

Regards

I know of a company whom is in the works of making a plug and play replacement kit for these motors.May take a few months for the first two to get done, but the finished product will be worth it! Putting some more info on what year truck you have, and motor type might help.

Have you checked to make sure there are no air bubbles in the new rad?? this will make it overheat quick! I have a friend who owns a rad shop if your not sure.

Bingo gecosuperstar

Exactly what it was. I bled two of the three ports and the problem is gone. But I am still interested in an engine swap Cat or Cummings.

I plan to leave the Hummer at the lodge for guest who want to explore some of the old logging roads (supervised of course).

Are you saying my existing transmission is useable if I purchase a kit. If so Cummins is the way I would go or the drop in unit that will be ready in a few months.(Thanks Roy)

I have two cummins in my boat and they are great. Pushes 42' @ 16 knots.
