okay they slowed down a bit but still close to 60 trucks owners have made sure they are registered and also we have triggered something in the Hummer community that other clubs are now trying to do the same thing...funny how CHC is the trend setter once again!!

If you haven;t filled out your form, try to get it done soon...

So here is a funny story and another pat on the back for CHC, we pioneered this initiative with AM General and now, apparently the other clubs are requesting the same access. We are a leader in the Hummer Community and have the access unlike others, CHC has been a LEADER in the HUMMER Community and we will continue to lead with new ideas, new avenues and the FIRST to lead the way!

Thanks to our members.. we will continue...If anyone has not got in their forms... we are still offering this service, and by the way...... THIS IS A FREE SERVICE we provide to all our H1 members today!

Just another reason why HUMMER is the best, <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... SMILEY.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' /> if only others would take a leaf from their book, now I am actually going to see about a H1 for next year................. I wonder if my wife will notice one extra in the drive <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... adbang.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':headbang:' />

Just because I drive a HUMMER don't mean I don't care about the planet.... in fact it means I can get to most parts without any help!
(try that in your prius)

Great idea !!! Its not that i don't trust the site but there should be a secure form set up on the AMG site though to avoid liability issues.. If the info gets shared or gets into the wrong hands it could be problematic with all the tittle scams and vehicle thefts going on right now. This info is very valuable for someone who can make use of names addresses and the associated VIN numbers. May as well hand over the keys and credit cards etc too.

I believe all trucks are all ready registered with AMG and they have all the vehicle warranty history from the build date on.

Most trucks that carry insurance will enevitably have some sort of file with AMG as most insurance companies will need to contact AMG to confirm VIN/Model for the purpose of verifying the classification for insurance purposes. AMG just did this for my insurer. My truck is coming off the blocks this month and i am changing my insurance company so they needed the proper info so they called AMG. Also every time you service the truck through a dealer a record of the VIN and the repair along with the card holder is recorded.

Placing a request with AMG for warranty sevice history for your Vin will also get the truck on file.

In addition importing a truck into Canada will be documented extensively with both governments.

As a rule i put tape on top of my VIN so no one can see or record the numbers.

Call Me Parinoid!!! Good idea in principle though.

We Understand your concerns, all information is kept confidential and we are in partnership with AM General for this project, security of our members is our top priority!!

As for the site or page on AMG, yes we had suggested it and in the meantime we committed to AM General to assist them by doing it this way. AM General currently has no way to track who is the current owner of the trucks without warranty work anymore and dealership not existing anymore so if you are not the original owner or have never registered the truck under your name with a dealership under warranty claim, they do not have you as the current owner in their records.. I know our insurance company never informed AM General that I am the owner of my VIN, maybe they validated that the VIN is valid but they did not inform AM General that I am the owner of that truck. All I can tell you is that when we had 12 drivers that went to AMG in June with H1s, and only one owner was registered with AM General as the was the current owner..

We are and will be happy to provide you our contact at AMG and you can email them the completed form directly...no worries or issues at all..we just want everyone to be taken care of...

PM me for the Dan's email address at AMG if needed.... just make sure your H1 is registered to you and you are the registered owner on AMGs records please...

Security is CHC's top priority and the safety of our members is always our ONLY interest!

All the best...

Thanks again Dereck for the clarification on that. As i said before this is a great idea. I emailed Dan my info today and have passed on the info to several other H1 owners i know. Hopefully they sign up as CHC members too.

A was surprised at the numbers of H1's in Canada. Very impressive.

Really looking forward to meeting you and some of the other members at the end of the month at Variety Village. I have been a member for a while but this will be my first event i will attend.
