Hummer H1 lug nuts

Post by Skenth »

I'm planning on changing the lug nuts on my 1996 hummer h1. I have standard 16.5" rims and wanted to know of therr are specific specs I need for the lug nuts. I believe the size is 9/16-18.

My current lugs are showing rust spots and wanted to clean up the look. I found some lug nuts online and has the specs in the pic attached

Ya be nice to remove the rusty looking nutz.....

That's kinda why I bought the wheel protectors off Roy , it hides our one piece wheels and imo looks nice

Hell my rims got rust fast so, I sanded them painted and oil sprayed inside rim to help keep less rust...

There are 2 styles of nuts for the steel rims, tapered and flat. The pic shows tapered so most will do. But flat, harder to find

Wrong style of nuts!!
They are supposed to be flanged nuts and the ones you have appear to be angled seat for the aluminum rims. Not sure how much it matters but i imagine they spec them for a reason.
Flange type for steel factory hub centric rims and angled seat nuts for the lug centric alloy rims. Torque on flange nuts 100fp, torque on angled seats 110ft. You may find the seat will pinch or crush after a while so i would check the torque often as they will probably loosen up after a few bumps.

Also if you do happen to get the proper nuts i have alloy rims that use the angled seat version and i would be happy to buy them off you to lower your pain. This is as long as they are not crushed or barked up..

Thanks for letting me know that my nuts are not the correct shape...lol

I'll keep an eye on it and tighten as needed. These cover up the rusted threads nicely. The link you sent me had same look as my original ones leaving the threaded part exposed
