I will try and hit the trails again next weekend with the Hummer. This weekend I am headed off-road on the ATV's.
Anyway, I will have to purposely mow some big stuff down with it to show how strong the Treehugger is.
I have to admit though I had some pucker factor with the size of trees I was pushing out of my way with it last weekend. A 4+ inch diameter tree is nothing to scoff at. But the Treehugger did not show any signs of distress or flex. If you look at the shape of it the guard its not something that is going to easily flex. I was making a tight turn and the front passenger side of the truck went up against the tree. The only option was to get pinned against a tree on my rear drivers side or shove that tree out of my way. Well that tree in front of the truck lost. I shifted into low lock and continued to make the turn. This is where the wrap around protection came into play. The tree bowed-over as the H2 made the turn and then the tree wanted to go down the side of the truck The side wrap design kept the tree from coming back into the hood. If I would have done that with my factory brush guard it would have easily folded into the hood/grill and damaged my hood. Not to mention I would not want to put that kind of pressure on the hood hinge system. The hood hinge is really flimsy and I would never put the weight of the truck on it like you can with the Treehugger.
In fact this happened to me when I had my factory protection with a small 2 diameter inch tree. The tree came around and did some damage to the fiberglass edge between the grill and fender flare.
I need to have Travis take a picture of the mounting system. The mounting system is hidden secret to what makes this product so stout and without a doubt probably the strongest out there next to the road armor. The problem with the road armor is that it weighs over 400lbs and costs about $1000 more, does not wrap around the hood as well, and looks like shit on a non-lifted truck. The Treehugger weighs 100lbs. The mount acts as an additional cross member to the frame. And you can use with with a Warn, Boulder Accessories or Factory Bumper.

2. What brand of Winch Bumper are you using and what size winch???

1. There is no mount under the hood. You pull the handle out drop the bracket in the bucket and put the handle back on. The hood mounts really are not the structural support. The structural support comes from the hidden mount.
2. My winch bumper is the old Boulder Accessories. Its not longer available. But Some people have express interest in having this bumper reproduced. And Rubberduck has express interest in using this bumper to design and build a much improved version of it. So if you are really looking for a winch bumper and you are serious about it let me know...
