I got a 2007 6.0L with 25,000miles it was half the price of a new 6.0L. The killer is labor, the labor to do the engine swap was $1500. I don't trust the places around here to convert it to a 6.2L or a Duramax. If you buy a 6.2 then you need the tranny also the PCM needs to be flashed and who knows what else it would require. It was cheaper and easier to do it the way I did and I am completely satisfied as the 2007 engine feels ballsier than my old 6.0. When I did this I was also in a bad place and my options were limited. The good news is with all my upgrades and the new engine I have a 2003 with like 25,000 miles on it. I do however need to buy a cold air intake.

I totally here you there man. The 07 Engine did have a little more HP and Torque. Not to mention 25K Miles that thing is fresh and not worn like our 2003 motors.
I also hear you on the $$$ part of putting in something else. There is no doubt though that when its time for a new motor to go into my H2 its not going to be a 6.0 lol. Or if it is it will be built to a minimum of 500H.P. lol
