Hey Guys,
I know that John is looking for a tranny for his H2 and I thought why not post some good info of a potential upgrade.
The Broken had some 6L80/90 trannies a while back and now there is a conversion kit that we can use to install them in our H2s! Finally!
This tranny would give a huge increase to fuel economy, driveability, towing capacity and strength! It is a relatively straight forward swap and while it does require some parts they are more than worth the effort!
Super low crawl ratio and 2 overdrive gears!!! Who can say no to that!
Check out the following link for swap info:

Hope this Helps!
Kev

John DON'T DO IT!!!!!
While the 4L80e is a much stronger tranny you will not be pleased with the driveability!!!
First gear on a 4L65....3.06:1
First gear on a 4L80....2.48:1 that means that your take off would suck and that your crawl ratio would drop from 33:1 with the 4L65 to a crappy 26.84:1 What does this means it means that you would have no real offroad ability and that your H2 would bog even in the slightest sight of mud!
I would suggest keeping the 4L65 or the upgrade to the 6L80/90 but stay away from the 4L80!!!
Just my 2 cents!
Kev

If y'all want my 2 cents...... I love my tranny!!! the 6 speed is a very nice tranny and provides a bit lower gearing which helps with offroading, towing etc etc..
It's tempting to regear since I went to 37's from the stock 34.5's.... but that's my own doing.... the 6 speed is nice especially if this upgrades comes with the manual selector for the steering wheel as offroading - I am always in manual as I like the extra control!
