Cognito Motorsports

Post by whitehumh2 »

Hey Guys,

I just installed a whole new Cognito Motorsports Front End.

Here are the parts I installed;

Control Arms http://cognitomotorsports.com/store/page36.html

Idler Arm and Pitman Arm Kit http://cognitomotorsports.com/store/page12.html

Sway Bars Links http://cognitomotorsports.com/store/page149.html

I also upgraded my Torsion Bars from the 6700lbs ones to the 7215lbs Heavy Duty ones.

I am VERY IMPRESSED with the quality of the parts and the final install!!! I now have 15" of clearance under my front diff!!! And the ride is Simply AMAZING!!! It even handles better than I ever could've expected!!! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... SMILEY.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... SMILEY.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />

Definitely an upgrade all H2 owners should consider!!! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />

Hey, I hope you dunna mind but I wanna bombard you with a few dozen questions....

Had my heart set on a detroit truetrac for the front to which I finally got the bad news from Eaton themselves that they do not make one for the front even though I had some idiot at justdifferentials.com tell me that it could be done, so back to square one.... I know you have the Eaton installed in your front.... is that one better than the ARB, same, or simply makes sense keeping them all electronic?

I like the idea of having better traction on an ongoing basis.... would it be a smart idea to change out the rear to a LSD and a locker for the front or is that a totally stupid idea?

Next - I like the idea on the HD torsion bars as I've done the rest excep for the sway bars, that will be done when warmer.... how did you bring your back end up without a lift kit or did you put a lift kit in?

It sounds like the new torsion bars themselves provides an increase in height... how much would that be?

P.S.... if I wasn't running againt you,.. I would have voted for ya! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... lleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Selectable lockers are way better than any LSD could ever be. On your H2 if you need better traction on snowy roads go to 4HL and use your TC2...same thing as an LSD, minus the going straight when you where trying to turn!! For Lockers...comparing the ARB and the Eaton...it all comes down to a matter of preference!

The ARB has a stronger case but the Eaton is easier to install. I personally went with the Eaton since that way I only have to worry about the integrity of the electrical circuit and not the electrical circuit and an air system...but that was my personal choice.

Since I have rear air suspension, I just reset the baseline in the computer for a slightly taller height, remember all H2s are already tail high so I only adjusted it an 1" just to have the H2 sit level front to rear.

The new torsion bars do provide some lift all by themselves and eliminate the noisedive under braking. Well worth the time and effort!

Hope this helps!!

Tanks man!

I didn't realize you still had the airride system...

Is there a way to bypass the low gear requirement that you know of on the rear locker?
