So we are on our way, maybe one or two hours from the end of our 16 hour trip and pop the right side signal light stops working.. odd and dangerous on the highway..so we pull over, and check the fuse, yep it is fried.. WTF??

I check the bulbs, gave Phil a call and we decide I have a short as parking lights work, brake lights work, and backup lights work. the bulbs are both good so there is a ground issue somewhere..when I take off the rear light to check the bulb, i noticed there is a wire exposed.. this must be it..I taped it up, thank god I had my tool box with me..and then I go to test it.. DAMNImageImage out of good fuses, should have listened to Julie to not waste my last fuse...okay now where do I find a auto store in the smoky mountains...guess who is going back down the mountain... will let you know how it turns out..

note to all.. carry LOTS of extra fuses in your trucks.. I have about 50 x 20s and 25s but ZERO 10s....ImageImage

Do you have the blinker lights in your rear bumper? I just replaced a socket because it was very badly corroded and while in my case there was no short, it could have caused one! Might be worth checking at any rate...

Socket was off the shelf at Napa and cheap! Just a universal socket for a 3057 bulb and works like a charm...
