Sorry, can't help but wonder if this is true. He does not seem upset, truck stolen one day, already has his eye on another one the next? No pics yet, no mention of where it was after Derek asked??? I hope I'm wrong, but from where I'm sitting, there doesn't seem to be a lot of concern happening there.

As for the 2007 interior noises, I have none. The only thing that squeeks sometimes is the center arm rest (storage lid), and that is caused by build up of dirt on the peg in the front left corner, clean it off and all is good again... at least in my 07 H2.

What do you want me to say?

Wahhhh Wahhhh! My truck got stolen! DO YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS?!

No, it's a truck. It got stollen. I have insurance. This is why I pay for it every month. I didn't post pictures because I've only checked this forum while at work...

I "moved on" because its a truck... a family member didn't die. I have priorities and although I'm upset by it, I buy a new truck and keep on going through life. Wasn't a big fan of the creaky interior hence the questions about the 2008... Should I have taken some more time to mourn the loss of my H2 before asking about the 2008?

Life goes on.

I'm more concerned about my questions about the 2008 rather than having everyone on the "look out" for my truck. I filed the police report and insurance claim. Cops are on it. That's that.

Thanks for everyone else's posts that were helpful. I guess it'll be best to find a 2008 and take it for a ride and check out the interior for myself. I'll do that in a few weeks though... It's too soon to even think about test driving another truck........ sigh......

I hear ya. That's your best bet. It sucks to have to make decisions based on the probability of theft. Ya, it was in the GTA.

So your 2008 H2 is pretty quiet inside? The plastic door panels... center console... rear hatch panels? They don't rub and squeak like crazy on on road driving... Or just pushing the plastic?

Not sure about earlier models but my 08 has the engine kill system with a chipped key... Not sure if they found a way around that yet but thieves are very resourcefull...

I also have an aftermarket alarm system as well also with a kill mechanism as I won't be without that as I've put a lot of money in mine that I would never get back so I wanna make sure she is safe...

Sucks you have to go to these extremes these days....

The easiest way to take your H is when its park in your driveway nose against the garage door , wheels straight or at the Shopping center parking lot. they come with a pick up equip with a wheel lift at the back, back up to your H clamp the rear wheel and they are gone, 30 sec. kill swich, chipped key, break in alarm , are really no use for this kind of snatch. Once the H is in th ewarehouse, no one can hear the alarm go off. They can even stop the Onstar system to transmit.

Best way to prevent theft, is to give them a hard time taking it. Back up inparking, use hand break, turn wheels, park it where its hard to get at with another vehicle. IF they cant take it under a minute silently, it will probably stay there. Proximity alarm or movement sensor are also good deterent. BUT if they WANT it real bad, they probably even be able take it from your garage without you knowing.

but their rule 1, take it fast and quietly if it cant be done, they 'll fine an easier prey.

thats my 2 cents on this

I definitely agree with all these precautions. It's unfortunate because I hadn't taken them sooner. You never think it'll happen to you, but alas... here we are.

I had an appointment 3 days after it was stolen to get an alarm installed. On my next truck, I'm going to get a Viper alarm installed with he proximity sensor, at least to deter. I'll take proper precautions like Archngel mentioned when parking... Also, I found this... I'm driving 6 hours to get this bad boy installed! Finding this really cheered me up! It makes me feel safer about my next truck!

3 million installs and they claim no one has reported their vehicle stolen! It's worth it... for me at least.

I'm also going to modify my garage so I can park it in there... Then I'm getting a house alarm... Call me paranoid, but seeing them just leave with my truck opened my eyes to the world of theft. I have expensive music equipment in my home studio so it's time for a house alarm, at least.

Even that won't prevent them from putting your truck on the back of a tow truck as was described earlier in the thread. Shock / proximity alarm would be the best thing for that situation - as soon as they touch the truck it's having a fit in the driveway... they're outta there pretty quick.

No that's not what I want you to say, but we have a massive network of people inside and outside of CHC, and had you posted more information, and pictures of your truck we may have helped you get it back. Derek has many great connections at other Hummer clubs etc as well. Word would have been out to thousands of Hummer owners within minutes, but the fact you didn't even acknowledge that post, seemed a little odd. Personally, if it was my truck I want all the help I could to find it, or more importantly maybe nail the person's ass that took it. The last time one of our members had his truck stolen, we were all over it, most of us pretty much knew where it was in general, but as per normal the police didn't head there first. As it turns out, it was found, where we had said it would be, but it was too late by then and had been mostly stripped. This was the main reason Derek created the Amber Alert section, so word can get out faster.

Sorry if I pissed you off, but most people that have a vehicle stolen are pretty pissed off, and you didn't seem that way at all, almost more like you were trolling for something. Guess I read it wrong, I apologize.

I look at thefts more from a "I want it back so they don't win", and/or "a don't screw with my stuff, I will find you" attitude. I HATE not knowing who vandalized me. I have a 100% "bust rate" at my house. Two eggings, and a theft from our garage... all three times I found out who it was, and on the theft got our stuff back. All three, were by three different groups of kids. One of the kids was grounded for 1 month, and ended up with a broken wrist (fell while being chased by me), the other kid was grounded for almost 3 months, and theft kid was a loser, with loser parents... actually the entire family is pretty bad so I involved the police on that one. But, I haven't had a problem in years now... word gets out.

We're all here to help with more that just advise! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />

I appreciate it. I'll go test drive a few 2008 H2's and see what I think. I know no one is going to want to hear this but I had a chance to check out an Escalade and it was quite nice... So i'm on the fence between an 08 - 09 H2 or a 2010 Escalade... Before anyone judges me, I don't do any off roading. I bought the H2 because I loved it as a truck, not as an off road machine.
