Rear Camera Install (aftermarket)

Hey need help with this aftermarket rear cam install.

I have everything pulled apart and need to plug in the camera wire to the reverse tail lights.

Two issues:

1. Unsure which port is neg or pos. anyone know? Pic attached.

2. Probably a silly question but how do I enter those ports? Tried lifting and pushing in but seems to be blocked. Trying to avoid splicing into those wires.

Rear cam was purchased from Canadian Tire and is called "Behind Sight"

Any pointers would be great.

Thanks in advance.

To truely tell which wire is positive, you would need a multimeter, or polarity sensitive test light. I would see if I can tell from the schematic found in the service manual, but I don't have it with me.

I wouldn't try to connect to the same connection within the light socket. They are usually designed for only one wire. Spicing is a far better option. If you do not have the ability to solder the spliced connection, be sure to twist it tight, and tape it tight with electrical tape so moisture doesn't make it's way in there over time.

Hope that helps a little,

Brian

Thanks! I actually went out and bought a couple of scotch locks and it worked great - I did wrap it up tight with electrical tape. But I did go into the same connection as the light socket. Seems to be working great though - just wish the camera wasn't so bulky looking. Reconnecting my rear tire mount again after I clean it up this weekend so hopefully i can hide it in there someplace.
