D, two optimas = 1600amps, one Odyssey = 1500amps and NO mods are needed to install it in your H2! Remember the kit from NW Wrangler uses the 1200s instead of the 1500s but the 1200s only have a CCA of 550 instead of the 1500s 880 CCA so in that case you need two but with one 1500 you are set!

a 1500 is ok with the Alternator?? Currently I still have my OEM one installed.

D, remember the Odyssey does not always output 1500 amps, that is only PHCA (Pulse Hot Crank Amps) actual all the time is 880 CCA so there is no problem whatsoever for the stock alternator, also remember this is a Deep Cycle battery so it will not stress the alternator nearly as much, it can recover from most deep discharges all on it's own! Besides H1s have two batteries on a stock alternator very close in output to our H2s and they have no issues!

  I am picking up my 2 Odysseys today.

 

  If there still remains any doubt about which is the better battery, Optima or Odyssey, the model for the H1 Hummer by Optima weighs 39.5 pounds.

  Both Odysseys are installed. I had to remove the front top post, and Kevin helped with suggesting the best gasket sealer to seal the cut area. Also had to have a metal fab shop cut my hold-down bracket and weld in a spacer to give me about 5/8" more width ($30). The Odysseys are slighly longer than the OEM batteries.



  Now, I know this is nonsense, but I swear the truck [size=11pt]jumps to life[/size] when I turn the key.  <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' />
