Upgrade to Heated Seats?
How hard is it to upgrade to heated seats on H3 models without them? Is all the pre-wiring in place? Controls are on the seat of the dash? <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='???' />

I'm not sure if the wiring is in place but you would need to buy whole new seats.... dunno if it's worth it!
H2's the control is on the door - H3's are on the side bottom of the seats.

On the seat directly eh? I would bet all the wiring is in place then. Likely I could even wire in an aftermarket heater into my existing seats.

Ok Sugarpheak If you can find a wrecked Alpha both seats will have full power (foward/back, tilt, lumbar support, and up/down) seat back is manual as well as heat (switch is badly placed). Be sure that small screw is in bottom middle if its missing the bezels will pop off and break GM did this to ours.

Yeah, but good luck trying to find a wrecked Hummer out here..... I have tried many times when I was looking for various parts... recently for my H2 and nothing can be found....
Unfortunately it takes quite a hit to write these puppies off - otherwise they are fixed due to the cost of replacement...

I put these in our old Liberty. It was not that hard to install, as long as you can follow instructions and are a little handy. You do have to take the seats apart but it sounds worse than it actually is. I am going to do the same in our H3T at some point. Just email and ask what kit you need. They were quite helpful. They are located in Vancouver.

Re: Upgrade to Heated Seats?
You guys can find used parts from off road tech in the states. Has all kinds of barely used H3/2 stuff and I know he's got some leather H3 seats and I don't think you can get them without heat if they are leather. From what I've seen they plug rite in but you may need a relay. Now I don't think this is the best option but if it's what you want then do it.
Also the aftermarket heated seats are easy to install. Your cloth seats are covers and you just pull them back and stick the heated pad on the foam. the one's I got came with little buttons with a picture of a seat on it.
