Im having a hard time imagining a supercharge H2 being walked by a mustang. Ok the H2 6400lbs is not a feather weight, and I'd have to check on how fast it does 0-100kph. if my H3 is able to do 0-100kph under 7 sec with 6068lbs, the accord V6 is doing it under 8 im still walking the Honda by a flat second. having it supercharged, and raising my HP over 400 ponies i doubt very much that the Honda would get closer.



For sure I understand that its not only HP that count. you are as fast as your slowest component, so first if your ignition manager cant keep up you're walking, if the tranny cant keep up you're walking, if the tranny keeps up and the transfer case doesnt,, you're walking, if those 2 parts can keep up,, well maybe you diff cant, ,you still walking. make all those component walk together at the same pace,, then,, well you may end up in the wood, since a Hummer is not made to go as fast as a Ferrari,, so doesn't the handling.



Im please with my 0-100kpk under 7sec, 0-160 under 14, I can push any slower Honda or Prius until driver reach breaking point and that he move over to let me pass. Im please that I can beat most of them on the green light if they want to try me. a bit disappointed that i know that the max speed OEM is 160,but hey,, i'm 50, my speed craving age is over big time, but i've been driving Jeep for at least 25 yrs, they were even slower,, i'm happy to be faster now <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />( not as fast as when I was in Germany with my 84 Nissan pulsar Turbo at 245kph on the autobahn but still happy <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Oh for sure, you'd be a great margin quicker with a blower no question there. But just to illustrate I found this article about the Ligenfelter H2 that they state is 'conservatively' sitting at 500hp.

A late model Accord will run a similar 1/4 mile... They put a decent V6 in those suckers!! At any rate definitely not trying to start an argument just drawing from personal experiences, a blown Hummer would be badass there's no doubt!!

Any auto parts store will have the K&N filter so you won't have any problems there... For the exhaust, I don't recommend buying the kits as they are stupid expensive and you don't need to replace your pipes as stock are fine. I'd reccomend going to a good custom shop and have them put in the designated magnaflow muffler with a good high flow cat(s). They need to be tuned which is why it needs to be done by a pro...

I've seen the kits as high as $1500+.... I paid $110 for my resonator, $109 for my mufler, and I think the 2 cats totaled $200ish...

So in the end.... Do what ever makes you happy as how you drive also is a factor... If you like the "bling".. Then you may want to go with the full stainless steel kit... For me... I offload so why would I spend that to have it get dinged up... Also don't forget that hummers aren't designed for high end HP, but instead more on the torque side...

If you want a real power increase the best bang for your buck in my opinion is a supercharger. I ran a supercharged H2 in my Mustang (which is also supercharged) and walked the H2 like it was standing still so understand that even with some serious horsepower improvements these will never be 'fast' vehicles by any stretch. Just the unfortunate reality of driving an SUV!! To put it into perspective, if you supercharged your Alpha you'd still be beaten (badly) by a late model V6 Honda Accord in a straight line... And so would my H2!! So is it really worth the expense?? To put it into even more perspective... for the price of a supercharger and professional installation (think in the neighbourhood of $10k) you could buy an older Mustang or Camaro and not get walked by a Honda... Just my 2 cents!!!! At the track I raced a Ram 1500 SRT (the one with the 500hp Viper motor) and again the Stang out ran the truck no problem. Keeping in mind this is an OLD Mustang that does not even have 400hp!!!!!! Fun to drive but hardly a speed demon, so long story short these big vehicles need insane amounts of power to keep up even with the old rust buckets!!

dont worry i m well aware of that. the only reason i want more power is because i want the Alpha to be the best it can be as a truck. and supercharging or turbocharging isnt even an option i dont want to ruin my truck. however as for racing i have other cars that can do the job quite well back home <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />. of course its the weight factor too, its a truck after all they are all about torque, so perfect <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> i love Hummers since as long as i can remember, still a shame GM shut them down. They didnt know how to keep their end of the deal.

GM made a "safari" version of the H2 with the ls7 engine which I would love to get if mine ever goes... Also has a 2" body lift which really is all you need for offloading...

As for that mass motors... Why would you convert an awd Hummer to rwd?? They loose focus of the vehicle's design when they do that but to each his own I always say.... Warranty GONE though....

after the warrenty expires screw that we can go all out and i loved the Safari edition H2 which was launched along side the Hummer H3 R. if the engine dies i m putting a bigger motor in and thats the truth to the matter. i have an 2008 H2 back home if the engine in that dies i m going for an LSX454 engine or try to see if a Viper V10 would fit. i know dodge put it in the SRT10 Ram quad cab with an auto but if there is a possibility i might as well. bigger is better and its for off roading of course not racing <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />, possibly off road racing <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />
