Fender Flare H3

Post by Archngel »

I receive today my fender flares from Bushwacker, <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' /> they look nice.

Wasn't exactly what i was expecting but I'm happy. it will protect the fender edge to a certain extend when offroading, they will cover the tire that is right now, 1.5inch outside my fenders.

Cant wait to put them on next week when I have a moment..

They will look sharp on your Rig the black and white contrast . Plus with the 35's your running it won't take away that rugged look ! On 265,even 33's with the front cranked i think it will take away that rugged look . Imo .

I for sure will post pic once done.. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />

as for the look with other tires,, i think its only because it makes the fender 2 inches wider, so of tire doesn't match like the 265/75 it may not do the trick visually, the 285 should be pretty close, but with my 315ther were out the fender 1.5 inch so just by rolling on humid pavement, water splash were all over the mirror, doors, and side panel in second. Pretty hard to keep clean when you want to go out all dressed up , clean, when the tinniest puddle dirty up the entire H. so this mod will be good. and it will also protect fender when brushing up against branches and stuff.

I might have to keep this in mind if the police ever give me a hard time about how far my tires stick out, lol

Marc, are you still using your stock rims with the 315's? I'm thinking 305/65/R16 with the stock rims when my stock tires wear out.

Seriously need to put mods out of my mind till I pay it off. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... adbang.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':headbang:' />

I'm not stuck, I'm momentarily inconvenienced.

Got them from Never Enough Auto Accessories Bushwaker reseller on ebay.ca for 401.00$ CDN 60$ shipping took them a week to deliver. Fender Flare

Didnt find anything cheaper and the OENM kit ( well not a kit as it come all separate parts ) is over nearly 750$ +tx at the dealer.

as for the install with mud flaps I dont know as it is difficult to know Factory mud flaps vs Husky's or other, i guess you would have to try.

on my 06 and 09 i had large flaps on my H, on my 10 they are narrow. Just by looking at it I dont think they will fit once the flare are installed, but maybe the Husky would or some other after market. personnaly I'm not putting them back on. The flares are no drill as they are using all the retaining clips or pushpin in factory holes. and I dont want to put on take off everytime I'm going out. but you never know, ill see on long term. Right now the tire are so much out that the rear flare rear passenger door handle are always full of dirt, snow, sluch or other from stuff trown by the front tire, not counting all what's getting trown up and on the mirror. so it will save and protect a bit more.

Will try to put them on this week end, need to empty garage of kitchen appliance and stuff so that i can work in a climate controled environment. Not very appealing trying to install in snow storm.

Update on the flares

Here are the pictures of them installed and adjusted

All up

Its nice looking,, its secure,, and fit well after some adjustment for the part on the rear door and rear top part. EOM hole dont quite fit with the clips they supply had to do some manual adjustment on that to make it fit good.

The oem mud flap wont fit anymore due to the angle of the end of the molding. a straight flat rubber flap may be applied I guess, but for the Huskies or the GM ones, cant be installed after the flares are ON. Ive seen this same type of flares with integrated mud flaps on them, but thet type I dont think the mud flaps cant be removed as they are part of the flares. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />
