So, I finally called my dealer for the first time.  I need an oil change and block heater.

They said no problem on the block heater, $260 installed and they have them in stock.

I asked about warranty b/c mine is from the US.  He said as long as it has 12500 km on it and it is 6 months old the warranty is valid and they don't have to do anything to transfer it to me.

So I am very pleased.  I will take it in on Friday and hopefully my good experience on the phone continues in person.

Meh, with the Canadian dollar in the toilet again I doubt i will be able to find a deal.

My dealer is in the next city over (45ish minutes away) and I have to go there for other business, so this is a good opprotunity to get two things done at once.

My dealer trip was nothing special.  They didn't seem overly friendly or anything.  No complaints, but nothing special either.

We bought our H3 through a dealer in Gananoque ON. The truck is from Florida. We did not have to modify anything other than the running lights for daytime as per Ont law. The truck was covered by factory warranty until Nov 08 and we bought another 4 years of extended for $3500 from the dealer. We have had some minor warranty work done all covered without question.

I mentioned in an earlier post I own a Florida H3, dash is in miles/hr.. only conversion was the day time running lights and a block heater (from dealer at time of sale) and not only did they honor the factory warranty they sold me another four years of extended warranty through GM. My dealer is Gananoque Chev Olds Cadillac. The nearest Hummer dealer is in Ottawa. My dealer orders the parts through the Montreal depot (same place every GM dealer orders parts through Canada wide). Never had an issue with warranty.... I asked about changing to kms and was told by the service rep "why spend the $300 bucks"....
