I will check my email when I get home tonight and see if I still have a copy of those messages they sent me.  If I do, I will forward them your way.  I just bought an H3 that was formerly a US car that has MPH as the main display.  I haven't brought it in for service yet, but now you got me worried.

This is from GM Canada after I asked if the US Hummer warranty is good in Canada...

Thank you for your e-mail.

In response to your inquiry, we confirm that new vehicles originally sold in the United States with an in-service date on or after September 1, 2002, must have been in service for at least six months AND 12,000 kilometres (7500 miles) before a GM dealer/retailer in Canada is authorized to perform warranty work.  As long as the used vehicle you purchase complies with these parameters, the warranty is otherwise reciprocal between Canada and the U.S.

It is correct that a Hummer product must be serviced by an authorized GM Hummer service facility, due to special tools and training being required.  There are Hummer service facilities available to you in both Regina and Saskatoon.

We trust this information is of assistance to you, and we thank you for contacting General Motors of Canada Limited.  Please visit our website again!

This is from my closest Hummer dealer.  Wheaton Chev Hummer in Regina, Sask.  The same warranty question was asked...

First I would like to apologize for not returning your e-mail sooner, I have been on holidays and this is the first opportunity I have had to reply to messages.

In regards to your message about the warranty on the Hummer's, with all vehicle manufacturer's there is a certain amount of time (12,000 kms and 6 months) which both have the be surpassed before a vehicle can be imported and warrented in another country. If the used 2007 Hummer you are looking at importing has not been in service for more then 6 months and has less then 12,000kms on it, then it will not be eligible for warranty coverage until after it has reached that point. Once it has passed that black out point, the warranty would be in effect for the remainder of the factory warranty. Since it is a  "used" vehicle it may be passed both of those points and could be fine. If you had a sepcific VIN number for the Hummer I could run it through the General Motors system for you and find out when the in-service date is.

As far as imprtorting a used Hummer from another province within Canada, that does not affect the warranty at all! The only time the warranty is affected is when it is being imported to or from the United States. A Canadian Hummer will have all applicable factory warranty.

Hopefully this reaches you in time to answer some questions, and if you do have that VIN available you can send it back to me to check. Any other questions, feel free to send me a message!

Thank you,

Cassidy Cook

My H3 is from the States...They have removed the cluster and it has been sent to Edmonton to have it switched over to KLM's .I was also told it had to be done to make sure the warranty was not voided.. It is not costing me anything as it is to be done through the dealer. That is what I am waiting on for it to be changed out then returned and put back into the H3...

just an idea as to what they are doing to mine.
