At the last run at the Polar Bear Playground, we were lacking some solid winch points. I have been looking for some good alternatives that we could use. I remembered the Pull Pal and I was wondering if anyone has any personal experience with it and if it can actually hold while being yanked by a very portly H2 or an H1?

No worries! I definitely had zero intention of buying one, I was already out in the garage checking my available metal. To me the Pull Pal isn't made quite Heavy Duty enough for our portly Hummers, so I was already trying to build it better and stronger!

AKA; land anchor.

they work well but you have to know how to use them properly. if you put them in wrong they will come out and usually without warning. something to remember is that they are not a "one size fits all" one that will do a H3 will crumple under a H1 tow.

from what I saw on their video its not something you use once you are in mud half door deep. it seem to be used as lite recovery with nothing around to get you out. also I doubt much that you can use it on frozen ground or very rocky one as you wouldnt be able to stick it in more than an inch if lucky. you see inthe video that the anchor made is way toward the van quite a bit. It help by giving you some pulling power to get you just over the snag your in, but like i said, half door deep, forget about it.



Kev if you are making one, remember you still have to lift it to get it in place. and if you managed to get it in front, it must not dig itself beyond itself otherwise you'll need the winch to get it out of its hole <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... oflmao.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rotflmao:' />

The application would be great if you were alone (your not supposed to be buy we all have done it lol) the pull pal looks like it would be good for out in the middle of a farmers field or like him in a quarry. My self I would build my own with a few tweaks and in all likely hood you could build it yourself for under 100 bucks maybe 150. Unless one was to think about aluminum!!



First thing in the design stage would be either two shoveled end spread out to a y or a much wider shovel looks in the like in the video he was about to plant corn with that trench lol.

The other attachment would be a bar attachment for being able to plant it deep in the mud and to be able to pull it out after.



This pull pal is a good tool for the gravel he was in but in my neck of the woods it would need tweaking.



Is there a pull pal for a mud/bog application? (that could help with tweaking)
