Emission tests

Post by Monk »

Well, that time came and I had to get emissions done for my truck. I was sort of worried about the optimizer as it's never was tested before.

I made an appointment with a garage and they said they could not do it as it's classified as heavy equipment.

So I looked up, and seen a mobile service

(Danny's mobile)

I called them literally a couple hours later they were at my house, told me to keep my truck nice and warm before he got there.

All he does is basically stick a sniffer in the tailpipe and rev your truck 3 or 4 times.

I was very happy with my motor numbers.

With a 31 being a fail, mine came In at 1.7 average.

Super happy, and I could not ask for anything cleaner than that.

It was just a 100 cash, while on the spot he sends the papers to the ministry so that was pretty cool.

Lol now I have stickers for another year.

Only part that sucked was I had two trips on the 407 so I had to pay those fines before I can get my sticker hahaha

So what does the 31 and the 1.7 mean...can you post a print out of the results compared to the actual EPA standards??? This is just a cash grab...really doubt it is a valid test, looking forward to seeing the results

E test I agree is a cash grab.

The test I took automatically gets sent to Service Ontario as she said I did not even need that paper but this is a copy just so you could see what I see.

Basically when I went to the Ministry of Transportation to renew my sticker they would not renew it unless I paid my 407 fines and I also had to get and e-test before they would issue, so I payed my 40 bucks for the fine, and found a mobile place ( on the list for ServiceOntario recommendations)

Here's another pic

But you shouldn't pay any money for emission test. It suppose to be free of charge. At least it was like that last year.
