Glow plug override , now ready for cold:)

Post by Monk »

Well, as I was board, figured try to do something in my price point :)

On those cold cold days, where ya want

A tad extra glow plug time.

I decided to do the deed.

Got a solenoid at princes aut, along with a push button starter switch.

Was an easy job.

Basicly from the glow plug controller

I ran a wire (from the 2 termianls) to the two main termianls on the relay.

Then a separate little power to the solenoid from my push button.

Some pics.

This was the location of the solenoid and then ran a wire to the switch in the cab, I ran the wire threw the hole in front of the ctis compressor.

Also this was the spot where I ran the wire downwards in front of the compressor.

For the wire size I used 8 gauge that went from the relay to the solenoid and then from the push button was only 14 gauge wire.
