Where is that price to and from? Also, which company is that with, and what sort of time frame? Can you find out what it would be from both R3T 6A9, Winnipeg, Manitoba, and 58265, Neche ND

Being new to this Hummer thing, I had never heard of Moab before, had no idea where it was. Just Googled it... good god man!! What a beautiful place, even via sattelite! I totally understand now why some of you are willing to make this trip, and pay so much to ship your Hummers there and back. That looks like off roading heaven at its finest. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... prised.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I'll be looking forward to seeing pictures from this years trip. Wow.

there is a documentary done about a group of hummer H1 owners who made the trek to-and-thru Moab, called Moab: Like Nothing Else, and it is simply remarkable. I believe it has to be ordered online, but trailers can be found on youtube, etc.

I've gone every year for the last 10 years and I've led trails there for the last 8 years. I also try and do a spring trip every year if I can.

There's some mis-information here that I can correct.

1. You don't need rock tubes, lockers, shiney gas caps or diapers. A bone stock Hummer will do just fine. TT4 trucks do fine, H2's and 3's - just fine. If you're just not sure, there's a bypass for almost every obstacle. Some obstacles are astounding - so correction on the diapers - you may need them. I want to be clear, your stock Hummer, regardless of the model will do fine. It's unlikely that you'll do damage other than to a halfshaft or an idler arm.

2. AMG brings a trailer full of parts and the best technicians, period. For a couple of years GM sent a support trailer with tech's. as well. For the last few years GM has NOT sent support, only AMG is there. They will help with the H2's and H3's - but they're not GM. GM has opted out.

3. Jerry Seiner Hummer out of Salt Lake City is the supporting dealer. It's their tech's that work alongside the AMG experts that fix your truck (should it need repair). They also send a billing person to do the paperwork. You're charged retail parts cost and retail labour rates. Having said that, they're at the host hotel and set-up what amounts to the best service department anywhere. They're objective is to get you on the trail the next day no matter what. It's very, very rare that someone misses a wheeling day because of mechanical issues. Paying normal labour rates is MORE than reasonable.

4. The guides are all very experienced and have done the trails many times. They know how to get your truck through the trail without damage.

I just couldn't make it this year but I will be there next year. Guaranteed.

If anyone has questions about the event I'm certain that I can answer them.

Like next years Moab event dates? Sept 13 to 20, 2012. Durango, Colorado (very near Ouray and on the same trails) and Aztec New Mexico (very near Farmington) for the first few days then a travel day to Moab with a night run on Gates of Hell. Then 3 days wheeling there. That's the plan right now.

From Calgary it's a fairly easy 2 day drive.

Greg

PS, If you've never been there...... GO! It really is something special.
