Bla, so the body damage was a little worse than I though. The quarter panel isn't just a single sheet held there with brackets, it is framed in with a very solid piece of sheet metal on the inside which was also smooshed. The only way to fix it is to weld hooks onto it and pull it all back out... which means it will need new paint as well. They are also going re-paint the rear door which took a rather ugly beating and was scraped right to the metal.
I've asked them to send out my fenders for Line-X as well while they are off so I quit getting scratches on them.
He figures the total cost is going to be around $2500... (gulp)

I have some photographs around here somewhere of the time I flipped my H2 out offroading around the Mackenzie Gap, just outside of Jasper. That was a costly repair. Reinforcements were straightened and dents repeatedly welded in to patch them properly. Gah. But so much fun.
P.S. Are we talking... not this weekend, but next? I think I could be persuaded to go.

Yep, it is an expensive hobby! I'd love to go out in August, but there are a couple of reasons I can't. The plan right now is for September 13th

It was not until after I posted my last message that I noticed that the date was for September. That should work for me too. I will be camping the September long weekend and then leaving near the end of September for Seattle, but should be free the weekend prior. It's been a long time since I've been offroad, so I'm looking forward to it!

A friend asked the date, I told him, and when he checked, asked the same thing. That can't be right, can it?

I just realized that I might have a problem on this trail ride. My H2 has a Borla exhaust. I might be begging for something bad to happen to it. Grr.

I am sure you will be fine... unless we try to go for the falls, then you might have to worry because we are cursed and something always goes wrong, lol.
.....on a side note, I can't believe we have not made it there yet!! I want to make it to the falls this year!!!!!!

I'd rather keep things a bit tame since I'm not yet certain what this vehicle will handle, since I'm not entirely certain it's history. I'd rather not be the one who has everything break on this run.
