Huge Hummer Event in Moab

Huge Hummer Event in Moab

Well…. This September the Hummer Club Inc. is putting together one of the largest Hummer events of the year, maybe even the past few years.

If you want to off road your Hummer, and if you’ve ever dreamed about doing it in Moab – this is the time.

Repeat - IF YOU’VE EVER CONSIDERED WHEELING IN MOAB – THIS IS THE ONE!

Why?

  • Hummers. Lots of Hummers, and only Hummers. H1’s, 2’s and 3’s – nothing else. I expect there will be more than 50 Hummers there.
  • Support from AM General. They designed and built the H1, they built the H2 and had huge input into the H3. They’ll be there with parts and technicians. It’s not likely that AM General can keep supporting Moab when the trucks they produced are getting older and older. Do Moab while AM General is still there. I understand that this is likely the last year they’ll be there.
  • Dealer support from Jerry Seiner Hummer. If your truck needs anything to stay on the trail, they, along with the AM General techs, can repair it for you. This is likely the last year they can support the event as well.
  • Knowledgeable guides. The Hummer Club Guides have significant Moab experience.
  • The trails. The Hummer Club Inc. has been doing Moab as it’s keystone event for many, many years – they know the best Hummer trails and the best lines through all the obstacles. You’ll get to do the best trails in the best possible way.
  • MOAB. It’s where your Hummer was tested and developed – it was built for Moab. Your truck wants to go – bring it there!
  • The people. Meet AM General factory technicians. Meet AM General executives, meet Hummer freaks from around the world.
  • The Hummer Club. They accommodate all Hummer vehicles and all levels of driver experience. They work hard to make Moab the best Hummer event of the year. This is their keystone event.
  • IT’S FREAK’N MOAB MAN! This is THE place to go wheeling.

WARNING!

I went more than a decade ago – and got hooked. Go once and you’ll go again and again. It’s an amazing place. Stunningly beautiful and almost spiritual, it can really grab a hold of you. Much like your Hummer has.

Watch this space. In the next few hours I’m going to start a thread about wheeling in Moab for newbies – Moab 101. My hope is that Team Canada will be 10 trucks strong!

It's more than 'a bit of wheeling'!

A few days in Aztec New Mexico, some wheeling in Ouray, Colorado then 4 days wheeling in Moab. It's an epic trip - well worth the drive.

I suggest that you Google 'Ouray' and see what you find. I know that one of the trails we'll run is at Bridal Falls - Google images of that. It's an incredible place loaded with abondoned ghost towns, old mines and stunning vista's. We'll be wheeling at elevations over 12,000ft!

Of course, if you can't go, you can't go - but if you ever plan on going, this just might be the best year to do so.

Every year there's talk that AM General will no longer be able to support the event. It really does look like this is likely the last year they'll be there and they'll certainly be missed.

If you ever plan on doing Moab try to do it while AM General is still able to support the event. They're not only there for H1's either, they're supporting all Hummer vehicles. The event is better in every way because of their support.

I don't know where you live but from Calgary it's a 2 day drive each way - and worth it.

Remember, the event starts in Durango, Colorado with trails in Colorado and Aztec New Mexico before moving, via Black Bear Pass, to Moab for a few days wheeling there.

They've really tried to make the trip worthwhile.
