G'Day westeners....

Our next event is the Brain Storm coated with Sugar (Haaa get it! Nick's idea, we'll have a trail toast to his honour as he won't be able at attend...)...

More specific details will be posted but the staging area will be in the Blairmore area (Crowness Pass) and we'll be doing a trail which will be leading to a genuine real life, non imaginatory, larger than life GHOST TOWN!!!! Legend has it, it spons from the pre-coal mining days and was the setting for many gun battles of the old west. More recently hikers have gone missing over the past several decades never to be heard from again.... WHAT MORE COULD WE ASK FOR??!!??

Seriously though... it is a designated Ghost Town and none of us have been there before so this should be a run to remember!

Date will be May 12th and more details will follow..

standard trail gear

ensure side steps are removed

food for 24 hours

tools & minor repair parts

again, new trail so we don't know what to expect, but based on the trail I did with Karl in RaceHorse Creek.... this will be spectacular! scenery down there is unbelievable!!!

Yeah sorry guys, my weekends for the next couple of months are going to be up in the air due to work constraints <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... on_cry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hmmm..... This sounds interesting!

I THINK I can make it. I need more details, like when we leave and scheduled return, but it looks doable for me.

This should be a good one!

The Hummer Club Inc. run in Sept includes a bunch of that stuff. Ghost towns, abandoned mines and all the equipment they left behind, Mesa Verde Indian Cliff Houses - then Moab.

I'm just amazed that everyone isn't clamoring to go on the Sept. event? Last time with factory support to boot.

Anyway, I checked my schedule and I'm almost 100%, I just need some details on the Crows Nest Pass....

Sorry, I have been trying to paste a map but doesn't work with the iPad...

It will be a long day, I may spend the night there, not sure yet...

Meeting place will be finalized shortly but most likely the Timmy's in Blairmore...

No one will wanna miss this one as the scenery down there is second to none...

Sounds good I'm in.

This is kind of my neck of the woods. I'll ask some of the guys that work for me that live in the area for some more details. Travel times from the Calgary Airport area will be about 3 hours at H1 speeds. 1.5 hours from Lethbridge. I'm just guessing at where the trail head is but that should give you some general frames of reference for planning how long the highway travel is going to be. There is also a back road up to Calgary that is a really nice drive but will add to the trip.

I think the 'back road' is closed due to animal migration until sometime in June.... no?
