Sounds great, but with you guys, I never know if it is that difficult or not. I remember the last off road in Mont tremblant this year (May 2012), where it was supposed to be so difficult that H3 should not go there, and finally, beside a mud lake where you have been stock with your H2 too, nothing that difficult...

So, what is the point here, to scare people?, to prevent any trouble? ("YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME BEFORE THAT IT WAS SO DEVASTATING...BLA,BLA,BLA..."). Because, depending on that we make our decision to go or not.

As far as I do know, off road is for fun first of all, and not to destroy your car cause the ground is not made for.

SO MY DEAR KEV," IS YOUR GROUND A PLAY GROUND OR A DESTROYING GROUNG?" (Hope you get the humor in this).

The trails this year are all completely new. There is no more playing follow the leader, there are tons of possible lines to choose from. The only time people should be lined up is if they all really want to do a particular obstacle. There are many very easy paths to choose from, but there are way more challenging sections than easy! Yes some people might never need a winch for certain obstacles but there are other sections where I would be surprised to see any make it to the other side without needing a pull to get there. To eliminate the jam up we had, I have made tons of bypasses so if someone feels the need they can simply drive around and then continue on the trail...or stop and help the other guy! There is also mud, or rocks or logs so people can choose their obstacles. Everyone will get stuck somewhere...that I can guarantee!



Yes it is a play ground, but just like when we go up north stuff can break...everyone needs to know that that is always a possibility. Remember, we drive Hummers not minivans...so if we can simply do everything without even engaging high lock or low lock and never need our lockers for anything, then what is the point! I do want my trails to be able to be used by anyone regardless of their skill level and regardless of how their Hummer is equipped, there needs to be something for everyone!



You will need to decide for yourself if it is worth it, I think it is!

So yesterday, I along with Macgyver and one of our buddies, we opened up several more trails. These are more technical and require some careful thought for vehicle placement, but as long as you take your time you can walk thru most of them. We made a cool parking spot under some very large pines near the back lake and we started to join the trails from both sides of the property together. There are so many intersecting trails that the combinations we can do are almost endless! We also tested the new Mud Section at the back lake, this will be a much larger and longer muddy area than we have presently in the front of the property and will be it's replacement since the one in the front will become lawn! This new section is awesome! You really need to keep your speed up and there are some winch points but overall it is a nice open play area!



Looking forward to having you all come try all the multitudes of new trails!!

So yesterday Kevin, our friend Rod and myself must have cleared a little over a kilometer of trails and bypasses. We later decided to venture onto the trails with my Hummer. I had been there two weeks ago clearing trees and I must say that I was surprised at the change that has happen since my last visit. To answer Victan on weather it is all a bunch of hot air, it is just like Kev said you make it what you want. Yesterday I had to winch 4 times, broke my driver side mirror off and snapped my winch cable. I could have easily avoided these issues by taking the bypasses but I choose to make it as difficult as I could. I took the "Fatal funnel" and kissed a tree (no damage done). For my H1 pickup it was tight probably a 30 point turn for an H3 it would probably be a walk in the park and for an H1 wagon I think you'd be asking for trouble. We went into the lake and all was well until i had to slowdown to avoid a stump and ended up having to winch with 200' of cable to the nearest tree. There are areas with little clearance on both sides of my H1 for when turning corners and when twisting over berms. After all is said and done it is a great time to be had by all and you can make it what you want. The trails are a mix of natural and man made obstacles and I personally don't think that some vehicle could make it but by all means Prove me wrong.

So when I stopped cause I had nowhere to go but into the stump I was stuck and finally got out by rocking my truck. It was dark by now and I tried to gun it in a new direction and that didn't work cause I couldn't get out of the ruts. I landed on the stump. Being lazy I decided to rip the stump from under me by using my winch cable. My winch cable was already finished but I decided to keep using it until it gave out. This finished it off, it snapped about 5feet from the hook. So what now? the closest tree strong enough was about 200' away and I had no hook. Well we took out the 100' steel extension cable and ran that to the tree and "Macgyvered" our own hook. With a well thought out "knot" incorporating 6 shackles we got the truck out. Here is a picture of the "knot" without most of the shackles as I only thought to take a picture after I removed 5 of them.

The really cool part was you could hear the MacGyver music playing the whole time along with the narration in the background!! Ok just kidding but it was a pretty awesome temporary cable fix!



I think we need to cut a couple more trees and shorten some stumps!

So tomorrow MacGyver and I will be finishing off the trails for this round. There are some nice scenic sections and some sections just great to park your Hummer and enjoy the Great outdoors. There is Mud, Deep Mud and REALLY Deep Mud. There are rock trails. Large rock obstacles and Rocks the size of Smart Cars obstacles ready to be conquered! There are small holes, large holes and bottomless holes ready to challenge your Hummers.



Overall there is something for everyone! Hope you can all make it!
