Weather held up today with sand operations at Silver Lake. Then was back to the off road track for mapping and gps navigation training, and then hit the trails in the pitch black of night. What a different experience!
As always sadly, there are things and pics we cannot share
What couldAMG have in store for us to top this day??

Hey Derek, you forgot to include this one that you got into!
It was a fantastic week at the Hummer Driving Academy and well worth the time and money.
I am really glad I did it and would recommend it to anyone.
Now that I have the skills I have to get my H1 off road ready! And yes, I know that means I have to get rid of the stainless steel bumper covers (or chrome as you referred to them).
It was really nice to have you as a team partner and I am still shocked that we didn't win the Hummer Olympics.

Yep, missed that one Kai....oops...remember I was just doing what I was told
Anyways sorry I missed the update from Friday.. the day started out great.. Some cool climbing exercises and replica environments from around the world..the Meat Grinder was awesome..BTM rocks!!! And I pushed Kai to his limit, making sure he took the most difficult lines they had to throw at him... Well done Kai for making it!!
Anyways, a great ending with a little Hummer Olympics, and some Hummer Geocaching ( yes in a Hummer and yes Kai and I won that one... by over 20 minutes..just a couple of wrong turns, but since we offroaded we didn't get dinged) And as for the second place finish and taking home to silver medal...well, I think the Jims paid off the judges...they must have, as we were AWESOME!!
A fantastic week...AMG sure puts on a great course, a great environment, and are a class act all the way.. this has been one of my best, if not my best off roading trip yet, and now we can't wait 'till the Reunion trip next year.. UTAH.. here come the Canadian Graduates!!
Thanks to the crew, the new friends.. and of course thanks for our NASA presentation by our newest NASA Employee friend!!

Holy crap that was close! Sounds like you're having a blast though.

Closer then you think.....Kai has some footage on how we recovered it without the tip... a great team effort...just shows how much a guide can help...and how much taking to right line and sticking to it is important...

By the way... there is also a lot more that AM General did for us that we are sworn to secrecy on...there are so many surprises and the awards ceremonies also were a blast... original for sure...and all details have been seen to.. above and beyond.
I highly recommend this and I know that Julie will be attending the next course...this is for sure an event and training that makes you learn your truck, INSIDE and OUT, as well as all the Humvees and other military trucks... oopss I have said too much....
