Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
I'll probably go to that one again.... Kinda kewl looking at all the different things coming out that I will never be able to afford... I wish I was able to make it to the world of wheels, probably would have gotten more out of that....
Does anyone know a goog fabricator that is also reasonable..... Rick is good.... But he also charges the $$$ and I wanna get an opinion on a custom mount in the front compared to an entire new bumper as I really don't want to add that much weight....

I can't really think of one that one cost you an arm and a leg, nevermind get you something that will have good fit and finish. You are way better off just ordering a bumper from Iron Bull IMO.

Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
Tempted to see if I can pick up a welder somewhere and do it myself....
I like the idea of a bumper, I don't like the idea of adding 300 pounds of weight to the front end. If I do that I would need to upgrade the torsion bard to the HD ones which may not be too bad.... Waiting to get some numbers from Kevin and where he got his as I can't find anything out there...
So I signed p on CHO.... I dunno, doesn't feel right to me....seems like a lot of hillbilly yanks to me so far...

Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
lol,
It was the best place for technical information up until about 2 days ago when the entire website content, layout and member base was lost in a dispute. Main reason I am on there a lot is because it is literally the only place I can find other people with H3T's that actually wheel and mod them.
I like the majority of the guys on there, plus they stuck by me and put pressure on Road Armor when I was having issues. Jim is pretty active on there as well as I recall, although he moved to Florida not that long ago so we probably won't see him up our way much anymore. They are frantically trying to get content that was saved elsewhere uploaded again at the moment.

Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
I was never active on their site but it always bites to see a good resource like that lost. Hopefully they will see everything recovered.
If you're in touch with those guys Nick, I dunno what kind of technical expertise they have available but if they can use a hand with trying to automate the recovery process at all I'm more than willing to lend a hand - no strings attached of course. In reading it sounds as though they may have some old-ish backups, not sure what their old forum software was or what kind of backups they are but typically should be able to automate any migration process regardless - beats manual recovery!!

Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
I am not sure, they still have a solid core group that knows basic forum setup and administrating... my feeling is they won't be consulting outside people this time. That is how they ended up in this situation now. Another thing that sucks is lots of people ordered CHO stickers and got stiffed by the guy who ran off with the content.
I am surpsied at how the community is pulling together and rebuilding the content at an amazing rate. The page was empty just a few days ago and they already have about 90 members signed up with over 200 separate threads of content being reuilt from memory.
