I work with a lot of jeep guys, one used to own his own 4x4 store in Florida. Anyway, he recomended the km2's over the Mickey Thompsons, but I just talked to a guy who owns a pick-up here and has the Mickey's on it. They are almost worn out now, but have worn very evenly from what I can see, he estimates they have about 30,000 miles on them. Sigh.... Brian as for the guy that says his Micky's are worn out at x amount . Vehicles are different as owners . Air pressure front end maintained proper. Rotation , Driving habits are all factors. Mud Terrains use a different compound for a reason and will never wear like a A/P or A/T . From what i have read for super long wear life in a M/T .. Tho i still recommend North American . Is the Hankook M/T RT 103 . They are not siped and are supposed to be ab it slippery in wet conditions . I guess Swamper SSR 'S or M-16 are out the question . Oh god i could just imagine the weight of 37's in those .

Yes of course several factors do enter into it, the tires are very low on tread now. A lot of his driving is on the road, but does do a lot off road just getting to his camp apparently. So kind of like me, more road driving then off road, but want the ability of the off road. I know I'm asking a lot, and the factory tires have been great and they are far from new. But I would like better (and bigger), so I'm just trying to find a reasonable balance, which is hard when you can't test drive these things. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> The guy loves his Mickey's, says even on pavement you just feel them dig in and grab even now. Noise level was "ok", but again that varies from person to person and what they think is loud.



At the same time the Jeep guy says the KM2's will generally last longer, yet Khamul says different, and at least he drives a Hummer for a better comparison to the jeeps. Of course, as you say, budget is also a big part.

Always wondered what a 2 would look like with 24 bolt military rims and the surplus military tires eiter the TA's or MT's.

Would they even fit??

i think h2 with military tires will look like a transvestite -, its to different worlds h2 needs pimp stuff and good looking stuff like TOYO or 40" BFG KO so the roll smooth with no issues. i got 37"s Toyos on my h2 and they are amazingly quiet tires comparable to MTRs or Mts i had prior. believe or not you get what you pay for....toyos are winners by far and don't wear that fast and good looking and most adorable tires for any offroader/daily driver, it only takes extra couple hundred dollars to afford Mts TOYOs but choice will be rewarded,,,,IMHO

Those look huge, what size are they?

I just installed Toyo Open Country MT 38x13.5x18 on KMC XD775 Black Rockstar....just got back from Boston were i installed them. I found them a tad noisier compare to stock BFG's.... but hey, this is an MT tires. I'll see how good this perform when i hit the trails. I bought them on Tread Depot (ask for Andy Peterman, tell him Jimmy sent you) they gave me a smokin' deal. I saved almost 1000 bucks with the set. I bought the TPMS from amazon and sent it to andy so they can install and balance the tires which is included with the deal also the 32 gorilla spline lug nuts were included. So when i received them, i just installed it, program the new tpms and i'm good to go <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... rgreen.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':mrgreen:' /> .

I'm going to go with the Hankooks. I've read a few good write ups on them.
