Needed - Shift Control Cable H3 2008

Post by JL »

Hey people, drove over a log on the last trail ride and snapped a cable!  Been calling around everywhere and no one has it, "Comin' from the States, be about a week" is what they're telling me and I've sold parts for long enough to know what that really means.

Anyway this is for a 2008 H3, 3.7L, automatic, base suspension.  Looking for a Shift Control Cable, sometimes called a Range Selector Cable or Transmission Shift Cable.  Specifically, the plastic mechanism on the end of the cable that secures the cable to the range selector on the tranny is what broke, but as far as I can tell cable and clip on the end are not separate items.

If on the off chance anyone has one I'll buy at any reasonable price, Calgary dealer wants about $170 so in the neighborhood of 170 is fine.  Otherwise, any ideas where I can get one in a reasonable amount of time?  Aftermarket or OEM, not picky.

Thanks for the help!

Might be!  I haven't tried my luck with the service department yet but I'll give them a call before ordering anything.

I have two other vehicles so having the Hummer out of commission for a bit is fine, half of me just wants it fixed and the other half wants to pull it apart!

Gotcha - with Shaw you have to stand your ground.

I needed a new axel seal on my H2 so I actually phoned GM Canada and basically told them that Shaw tried to copp out at every turn as she guaranteed me that this was covered.

So of course when I booked the appointment - they tried the same and boy did things change when i mentioned I had already called GM Canada and they weren't too happy....
