You are going to ship? I am going to pick up anything I buy for sure, especially from Kijiji.
I don't trust anybody from Kijiji to be honest, to many scam artists.
Becides that the e-mail they are writing from seems kind of shifty.

Re: Found On Kijii H3 For Parts
Yeah I know you're right about that, but I figure it's $60 gas there and back or $80 for parts and shipping, so worst case scenario I'm out an extra $20 if I were to drive there and realize this place didn't exist...
I'm just gonna do an email money transfer to them which should be perfectly safe, if I get scammed I'll feel like an idiot but at least it won't leave too big a dent in the bank account...
Here's a weird question though, anyone know how the salvage business works? Here's what I was thinking, they say they're in Cardston and you can tell from the photos it was precipitating the day they took the pictures. Last day it rained in Cardston was May 12... What are the odds it was on the lot for at least a week before the ad was posted to Kijiji?? MacGyver skills and weather archives for the win, eh?!

Re: Found On Kijii H3 For Parts
I feel weary about this guy, I asked him to give me a call today to go over the details so I can get this order going.
I asked if I could use Visa (for me, it is a nice safe way to ensure I have consumer protection)... he said yes, but I would have to come there in person <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... lleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
He also hasn't given me a name, nor has he given me the company name yet in any of the responces.
Also, on googlemaps... no results for "Parts For Less"
See if you can get an address from him and we can check it out on Google Maps... then see what buisness is at the address and do a confirmation just in case.

Are you getting the Nav system!? I just noticed you were asking about it, I was actually looking into the Nav system as well from them. I will retract my request if you want it.

You're totally right and those are the first things I actually checked.. Western Salvage Transport Inc. is apparently the name of the business but I didn't actually get an address from them. I got the guy's name too but if they are actually legit I'll do the guy a favour and not put his name on the forum. I'll PM it to you if you want it though.
I sent the cash today so the real test will be if the parts appear on my doorstep! I'll let you know what happens..
Honestly the reason I did it is because they were pretty knowledgeable about the parts I wanted and described to me exactly what I was getting and everything was 100% consistent with what the parts actually are. So just for instance that cable, they described all the attachment points and the brackets they were going to send, how it attaches to the shifter etc. Granted you could probably figure that out without a Hummer in front of you, but they were fairly thorough so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and see what happens.

Re: Found On Kijii H3 For Parts
He was supposed to call me today to wrap up my order, I didn't receive a call.
Did he call you at all or are you just doing everything through e-mail?
So, I don't get any hits on that business name on Google Maps in that area at all... I can't find anything online about them.
Get the address if you can, I wouldn't mind to pull it up Google street view to verify.

Re: Found On Kijii H3 For Parts
I am fairly certain this is a scam now....
The instrument cluster is not Canadian, ours starts at 20... not 10..
The image was carefully cropped to excuse the gas and temp gauges which also have distinctly Canadian cues.

or parts only is a 2006 hummer h3.52,000 km's.runs and drives.this has a for parts only title.let me know what you need of the vehicle and i will give you a price.i will consider selling complete for the right price.thanks for looking.

So... did it come? Did you get the address of the place?
The guy was supposed to call me, Friday came and went and there have been no follow up e-mails or replies since.

Re: Found On Kijii H3 For Parts
I was worried about that... he stopped e-mailing me when I wanted more details and for him to call me <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... prised.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whatever:' />
