I am BACK!

Post by Injunfarian »

Not sure how many of you all remember me but I have some popular older videos on youtube about my 1998 HMCO... Well I am finally in position to get her back up and running this year and hopefully Roy will be able to fit my beast in for alot of maintenance and TLC as well as some steering upgrades.

Thank you! Yeah kids and life got in the way of fun and didn't have time/money to get my poor girl back on the road so let it sit while I started collecting parts overtime as I noticed sales etc. I finally got just about everything to put her back together and hopefully will be back up and running this summer. I plan to take it easy on the H1 for the next few years until I get it built the way I want it then I plan to start working it out a bit more.

I also have switched gears and started to wheel/work on a much smaller vehicle. Basically a street legal side by side with 800cc engine just under 10ft long and 50" wide. Works great in all the ATV trails around me. Plus Alot easier to recover from the mud etc than the hummer when it is stuck.

It's about time for the truck. Looked very sick in the drive with flat tires over the years

Yes unfortunately business, new house, and a few more kids took priority. However now I am focused on getting it back up and running, Just debating on rebuilding the stock steering or upgrading to the Sheppard M83.

Ended up putting in some work on it today.. drained the old oil, added fresh oil to her.. then started tearing apart the center console/doghouse so i can hook up a drill to the oil pump to prime the engine a bit before attempting to turn it over..

Here is how she sits today.. as you can see very sad looking but over the next little bit I plan on cleaning her up and replacing the old fluids with fresh.

Roof is good shape.. actually bought it brand new the same year she was driven to that spot.

Plans are to just get it back up and running good and on the road first. Then slowly give it a total restore on anything and everything that needs it. Eventually do a frame off on it while installing a 2" body lift at the same time.

I think one day, year or so (to much on my plate this year) I'd like to do a body lift as well,

Only thing, the body bolts I'm sure salt/grime/grit pretty well welding them in place, hehe

Btw, what's that under the wash fluid ? Disc shaped? Are you a gasser?

Sorry for delay, life keeps throwing curve balls but I believe I am starting to get things back under control.

The disc shaped item under the wash fluid is a air tank for the big air horns on the hood.. at the moment it is rusted and leaking air so they are inoperable.

I am not a gasser, I have a 6.5L TD my truck is a 98 but engine was replaced in 99.

However I am debating on whether or not to go GEP or Cummins swap.
