Ok..so I just got a call from my mechanic...

The horibble noise upfront was caused by the Lower Control Arm Bolt rubbing against the wheel! It backed off when I accelerated and rubbed when I decelerated...lol. Anyways, a quick easy $100 fix...but not warrantable.

The really cool news is he checked out rest of front end and all 4 ball joints are worn and will be replaced with Heavy Duty Ball Joints - and IS warrantied Image Now I just need HD Tire Rod Ends like Khamul.

No. I originally broke an outside Tie Rod End and got that fixed no prob thanks to Jimmy. About 30 mins later I started to get a new noise. THAT was the Lower Control Arm Bolt rubbing on my wheel, and I got that fixed here at home... My mechanic fixed it and then told me after that all the Ball Joints are worn too, so will be replaced. NICE!

Back in business again!!!!

Got the new drive shaft installed today and holy freak was that easy! Talk about a nice design on the Hummers for quick removal and installation!!! I'm almost nervous something is going to happen that is went so easy!

I still have to get a proper carriage bolt and I'm going to replace both sides to be safe. I still think that bolt should never have failed in the first place!

Thanks B-Man for the offer but seeing how your mechanic friend there was getting married this weekend - I'm sure he had more important things on his mind. The wheel bearing in running fine but will keep an eye on it for the future...

Still have to clean her up - gave her a quick wash, and will start the inside after dinner tonight - from now on I'm keeping the windows closed as there's mud everywhere!!!!!
Live life like there is no tomorrow!! You never know what's around the next corner.....

Yep, those are the same ones the H3T's have. They beefed them up for the H3's a couple of years ago.

I was thinking they might have some really heavy duty ones out there somewhere, that would be sweet!

I don't think replacements are all that expensive, JL is looking into some pricing locally for me on some greasable ones.
