New Hummer Onwer - Whitby - Ontario

Post by James »

Hello Everyone! Just got my first hummer, always wanted one from the moment I saw one. My fiancee, well she on the other hand is the exact oppisite LOL

Bought a 2003 H2, looked around and found a white one (don't see as many around).

I have a quesiton, and was reading the site to find out but didn't see anything.. Anyone else when driving over 110km hear something rattling off the windshield? it's really annoying!

Welcome to the club!

The rattling is very easily fixed. Remove the plastic trim on either side of the window and replace the foam backing with a thick (3/4") new foam strip...this will correct the problem!

Nice Choice btw!!! I have a 2003 White H2 also and I Love It!!!!!

Welcome to the club...Polar Bear is exactly right (he should be as he originally told me what my problem was). Make sure to get the 3/4 inch foam as I went smaller as the 3/4 was not available and I ended up having to redo the job a few months later. Now, not a problem....unless you count the three windshield chips or cracks a problem...they make a whole other noise!!!!

what i ended up doing was adding a thin line of silicone under the trim right at the edge. cleaned it away off the glass, and let sit. mostly made sure you couldn't see it from any angle (used my finger nail to push it underneath).

let sit, and no noise!

right now, just getting the steering box rebuilt as it had a small leak. Shocks were leaking too, changed them out. leveling kit, now pricing out rims and tires. the tires are in rough shape, give a bad vibration when driving. looking for 20's and 35's but keeping the offroad look the truck needs.. NO car looking tires for my H2

Next i want to put in Navi and reverse camera, have that in my 07 Avalanche and my vette, makes parking a breeze! Funny how you get use to something and really miss it in the next machine..
