Places to Off-Road
I'm a new member from Burlington, Ontario. Just purchased a 2009 H3. Any places members can recommend to try off-roading? Any input would be welcome. Thanks.

Re: Places to Off-Road
we have a few spots, there is one in Cambridge, close to you.. we should try it out..but we haven't been there is awhile...a bit of trouble last time with trucks following a trail into a "bad" spot that we were not suppose to be in, caused us a bit of grief but maybe now the air has cooled and we could be okay... maybe worth a try and a run by to see if any signage has been put up..

Please keep me posted the next time a group of people get together to go off-roading, I would like to give it a try.

One good rule on offroading never ever go on a trail alone . Even if you know it well.

Re: Places to Off-Road
Hi Derek and all, I have been searching on-line for trails info in Ontario on this and other sites but there is practically nothing there.
I found the OF4WD site and saw that our club is listed as member club there.By the way, when I e-mailed them inquiring about trails info, they also mentioned that our club membership has expired and we haven't renewed it.
I also saw a bunch of other off road sites (Jeep/Mud/etc clubs) but there was no info/maps about off road 4 x 4 trails.
The only trail info I found was from Ontario trails council, where they have built a big consolidated data base for all kind of trails/activities and from that data base, all they have for 4x4 trails were 3 trails (one km, and two were km long), the shortest distance was 2 1/2 hours and the longest one was 5 1/2 hours from GTA. Is that the extent of legal off road trails in whole of Ontario? I find it hard to believe.
The tread lightly web site in US does offer lots of maps for 4 x 4 US trails, is there anything to that effect here locally?
Could you please shed some more light and let me know the easiest way to find scenic and local off road places close to the GTA area? any winter places worth visiting ?
