Hey Guest!!!<DIV> </DIV><DIV>Your Right Bud... HUMMER Unvailled The H1 Alpha In Oct Of 2004 at the Anaheim Car Show. But To Me All H1's Are Alpha's... They are the leader of the HUMMER Pack.. LoL</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>PeeP</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>I'd Recomend looking for an Older H1 that's already upgraded, cause by the time you purchase It, and load the amount of cash to upgrade It, Including lockers... You could of bought yourself a Newer one without the wait!!!</DIV><DIV>Just My Two Cents Bro ;-)</DIV>

Re: What are "Lockers"
Might I suggest sticking with the 98 H1 since you avoid alot of problems this way. First, no ABS, which translates to no traction control(TT4) and thus one less computer etc. Also the 98 and older trucks without ABS use DOT 5 brake fluid which is a silicon synthetic fluid that has no natural affinity for water like DOT 3 or 4 do. You already have the upgraded heating system and the MONSOON stereo system and your dash layout is the way it should be...bulky!! If you need to add lockers you have three choices and I highly recommend you install both front and rear!! <DIV> </DIV><DIV>ARB air lockers...Best choice for durability and ease of installation on an H1</DIV><DIV>Eaton E-lockers...Excellent but you better run them thru a computer to keep them happy or at least ensure you have seperate relays and fuses to protect them....DON'T WIRE THEM DIRECTLY...you should no be able to accidentally engage them on the Highway...very very bad things could happen.</DIV><DIV>OX-Locker...cable operated lockers, all mechanical design that is lever operated with a lock out, really awesome set-up but the kit has only recently been released, so I am not sure about the durability just Yet but it looks to be a very solid piece!!</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Happy Shopping!</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Kevin</DIV>

I also upgraded the stereo, and added a fair amount of soundproofing, so for all practical purposes it's equivalent to a 98, xcept that I still have the higher gearing in the diffs at 2.73, instead of the 2.56. That means more torque off-road, but worse RPM-speed ration for highway.</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>For lockers you can also go for Auburn (similar to the Eaton, but not interfaced into the computer and also available in different gearing ratios, unlike the factory Eaton ones), as well as Detroits (so called automatic lockers... anytime you apply torque to the pinion/diff input, the diff locks up... let go off the gas, and it unlocks). The Detroits are pretty well bulletproof in terms of dependability.</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>I'm looking at going with the Detroit in the back, and a selectable locker for the front... most likely Auburn. I don't do much winter highway driving, so the automatic rear locker is not a great issue. Just don't hammer the gas when turning corners <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /></DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Robert</DIV><DIV>97 TD wagon</DIV>
