[QUOTE=Darius] I was told that the only people that can service the vehicle in Alberta are Shaw and Southgate. Unfortunately, I can't make it up to Edmonton for this. I did ask GM Canada to have Southgate inspect thevehicle and to stand behind their product but they say they refuse to have one dealership inspect the work of another. Understandable as they are independent. At the moment, it doesn't seem like I have too much choice other than to wait and see if I run into any more mechanical issues. The one positive thing GM Canada said was that if I continue having problems with the vehicle towards the end of the warrantee period, the would look at extending it.... Whether or not they stick to that is something else. Also, I don't quite like the idea of having to spend half the vehicle ownership in a rental.

GM dealerships are so completely anal when it comes to warranty work. It seems an easy cop-out if they are swamped to say, "sorry, we don't service Hummers." My H2 was to the point that it was unsafe to drive due to front end problems, yet the two local GM dealerships refused to service it and recommended I flatbed it to the city 20 km away. I couldn't believe it.

Even more amusing is the GM dealership in Camrose selling them, but refusing to service them. I was there and needed work, and they told me that they could not. I asked them what they would recommend if I bought one of their H2s off of the lot and required service, and they told me that I would need to drive to Edmonton. What the hell?

I am starting to see more and more GM dealerships selling them, most likely buying them with 10 km from an auction in the U.S. and then selling them here used "as good as new" to get around GM stipulations.

I wish that GM would take this crap seriously because I am seriously to the point of popping a vein in my forehead after dealing with horrible service from Hummer dealerships and an outright refusal of service from other GM dealerships, even if they sell the bloody things on their lot.

I love the Hummer, but at what cost? When does it end? You can only take a kick in the teeth so many times before you want to drive the thing through the side of their shop and just leave it there.

With the recommendation I do so, I have contacted AM General directly and am awaiting a response. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
