Variety Village is all about personal bests. Variety empowers individuals of all ages and abilities by providing accessible, safe and inclusive fitness, sports and life skills programs. Money raised helps fund vital programs offered at Variety Village for people with disabilities and their families.

At the 5th Annual Variety Village Walk Roll Run Fundraiser, funds raised will go towards providing opportunities for kids with disabilities to hope, learn, dream and grow through adapted programs and services offered at Variety Village.

Variety Village is a world recognized authority providing integrated sports, fitness, life skills and learning programs that impact lives and strengthen communities.

Variety Village empowers individuals of all ages and abilities by providing accessible, safe, inclusive, and adapted fitness and sports through facilitation, skills transfer, and training. Our impact also extends well beyond the walls of the Village.

Through our outreach programs, we provide opportunities for people with disabilities throughout the province and across Canada to participate in fitness, sports, education and recreational activities. No other facility offers the same range of options for adapted physical activity that can rival Variety Village.

The environment of integration and acceptance is an important part of what makes the Village the extraordinary place it is. Unlike other organizations where individuals are grouped according to their disability, at Variety Village everyone plays, competes and learns together in a community that focuses on exploring and celebrating their ability.

Please help us achieve our fundraising goal. On behalf of the children and the L.I.N.K.S. Program of Variety Village...Thank You!!!

I posted the above to the Irish Executives group on linkedin asking for members in the GTA to attend, I think they will <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Just because I drive a HUMMER don't mean I don't care about the planet.... in fact it means I can get to most parts without any help!
(try that in your prius)

Okay guys and Gals... I was at the Variety Village last evening for their Kick off... first let me say.. this is a AMAZING facility.. wow, Dee's son Jamie took me on an entire tour of the facility, I have to to say that I am very impressed, it is amazing what they are doing there for People with special needs.. this is just fantastic and I can say that I was never aware that such a facility existed. I was lucky to have the chance to meet with a lot of fantastic people last night and this is one of the best charities that I have seen as well as one of the best that is for sure in need our help.

Now here is what I have to say...last night we took part in the kick off for Variety Villages "Walk, Roll, and Run" and our trucks were front and center with the CTV cameras rolling..we also had an opportunity meet Tom Brown from CTV and do a TV Spot with him on the ^pm news last night.. I know Adrian saw because he messaged right away.. 3.7 Million people saw our Club supporting this fantastic charity... so now comes the spot and point how you all can help out.. as a club I would like for us to step up and help an organization that is fantastic and does great things for the community and of course is one that directly helps one of our members. Dee, herself has done so much to assist this charity on her own that it is the least we can do to assist.

How do you help, is that the question you are asking yourself?? well in a couple of ways... and more to come.....

  • First off Dee has created a Great donation site called HUMMERS 4 L.I.N.K.S ( Links is the program that Jamie is a member of at Variety Village) Please check out the donation page and find out some more information.. their Team goal is $4000, it would be great if we could have some members donate a little something to cause.. $5 even would help...the Link is.. HUMMERS 4 L.I.N.K.S
  • Second off...We will be doing a HUGE Rally on October 30th and convoy as many Hummers as we can into the Charities Fall Fair.. we would love to have as many Hummers as possible to roll down the Danforth in Toronto as it will be closed to the public..we will be lead by a Giant HUMMER Stretch Limo carrying Tom Brown from CTV and it would be great to have 20+ trucks there, currently we have 10 trucks committed.. it would be great to have as many trucks from our club as possible there. This will be a fun filled day with all kinds of stuff for the family to take part in..bring your kids and dress them in their Halloween costumes as well..
All I can say is that we are honored to have been chosen to take part in the event and we look forward to all our members taking part as well.... stay tuned for more news and updates..also please feel free to contact Dee if you have anymore questions on how you can help out this GREAT cause!!
