Re: ATTENTION: Stolen 2007 H2 SUT
I hope the mall had security cameras . O7 is a tuff one to take . O3,O4 , are the easy er ones i have heard to take . I guess the Onstar was not active ? Usually this year is going over seas and done by a crew ! Flat beds , or have paid large for master keys and alarm codes ! Which usually is from paid off employees from a dealer or management of the brand ! As for reason ? IMO 40% parts 60% in a crate going to Europe /middle east /India /Africa . This is very sad and i wish the best for our club member . Very sorry to hear this and hope it works out .John

Re: ATTENTION: Stolen 2007 H2 SUT
Im sorry to hear about the loss, you can bet your next paycheck that you will find that vehicle at the 6 nations indian reserve. My family has lost 3 in 2 years. all h2s. 2 were recovered from the reserve and the 3rd has never been found. our vehicles were stolen from the stone road mall and there are plenty of cameras'. Kids steal these for the rims and stereos and dump them on the reserve and sell your goodies for a quick high. This is a well known fact with local law enforcement, i would suggest the owner head over to the reserve and pay the local kids a few bucks to show him where they left it.This is in know way a biased account, i have many native friends and this is no slight to them in any way and they will tell you the sdame thing. best of luck, we now run gps tracking units on all our vehicles.

So I spoke to Cavan, they tried to track via Onstar... no luck...as for the 6 Nations Reserve, I really have no idea....I have been lucky to not have had either of my trucks stolen as of yet but I am truly thinking about Boomerang being installed very soon!

Re: ATTENTION: Stolen 2007 H2 SUT
unfortunately the Six Nations reserve is the first place to check. There is apparantly a real problem with stolen hummers and pick-up trucks over the past 3 years from the Niagara Square shopping centre in Niagara Falls. most of them were found in varying stages of being stripped on the reserve. This info came via the police not hearsay. i have been looking in to a security system for my H2 with the engine disable feature. i think i'll get more serious about my search.
This sucks. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /angry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Was his Onstar active ? If so they cut it !Or master keys and codes . Which there is no defence , unless they get caught or spooked !

On Star will not work in underground garages ,shipping containers , or if antenna is otherwised blocked. As well it fails if the battery is cut. Derek ask Bell about a cheap cell phone and plan then dump it in the truck. Most phones are gps locatable and don't advertise their existance.

Re: ATTENTION: Stolen 2007 H2 SUT
the idea of the hidden cell phone is a good one as long as you gan get the software to track it. Most new phone have this gps fonction off by default since Apple got sewed because GPS was active and they were keeping data of location and traveling habits of customers.
as for boomerang its good also for about the same price as the cell phone plan.I would consider this more than a cell phone as the cell would have to be plugged in at all time for power.
You have also to remember. Deterrence is the 1st step. Thieves pick cars that can be taken in less than 35 to 60 sec. if he has to look for Hidden boomerang, or other after marker GPS tracking device, much chance that the car will stay there. Even more if the H advertise the tracking device, thieves wont even look at it unless they are equiped for the task. Same thing if they are all marked and registered to a marking entity like Sherlock or other, as the parts are not resellable or its cost too much to unmarked them.
SO if marking of the vehicle is visible, most likely your car wont be taken for parts, maybe for joy ride or export quickly. if car advertise for boomerang or others (for sure signal can be scrambled if thief is equiped with the tools and they can leave with your vehicle ) your vehicle will more than likelly stay there, because the thieves wont have time to look for the transmiting module as its never at the same place in any vehicle.
winter time is the best time to get your vehicle stolen as its not unusual to see cars and truck on flat bed because they dont start and they are heading to the garage. So If they want your vehicle badly they will probably get it. Give them a hard time to get it, turn your wheel toward the sidewalk, engage hand brake, keep it in gear or in reverse( for manual trans ) and have a glass break detection alarm. You may loose a window but the alarm will make the thieves nervous and leave. If he disconnect the battery, he cant leave with the truck on wheels. Most glass break alarm can be fitted with an alternate power supply in the case of battery disconenction.
Its one thing i noticed on all the gathering ive been to. Rally , Toronto meet, christmas party, many dont have any marking what so ever, that would make to my opinion easy target to leave with. No need of any fancy system, just make your vehicle not attractive. We may never be able to prevent vandalism, but we can surelly do something about getting our H's being stolen. Have your driveway light adapted with a move sensor. So light in driveway comes on in detection of mouvement around your vehicle. Have some king of marking on the vehicle that mentionnes vehicle is protected by Such n Such. any little bit of deterring may save your H from being taken away.
Hope that this little note will save some H from disappearing.
