This is low tech and high tech at the same time. I had this done back home for my vans and all my equipment.

In short, you have a "DNA" for your property. each of my vans had about 1500-2000 of these sprayed on, all in hard to reach places, even on the rims, the radios.

your best defence is still a good alarm system, but this can help even if its years down the road.

One guy I met had a system via his phone, when the alarm went off he would get a text to his cell. he said that as much of a pain in the ass as it was at times, at least he could reply to the text with a code and shut the power off to the engine, had an alarm siren in the truck as well (that was <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ey-055.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':curse:' /> loud!)then he could call the police

So like I mentioned above, I am getting back to looking at security for my H2. In the process, I came across this Insurance Bureau of Canada program. I'm thinking unless they cost two arms and a leg to install, one of the systems approved on this site would be a good way to go. That way, if your vehicle got stolen your insurance company would have a hard time arguing with you seeing as you are using one of their "approved" methods of protection. I'm going to research each of the listed products a little farther and see what I can find out.

H2 from 2008 to 2010 are supposed to be already equiped with them according to their paper Listing of Vehicle equiped with IBC approved

Im not sure about their listing since I dont think that there is H2 built as 2010 model but anyway. Any earlier model should have this looked into.

how about a group discount?? I'm guessing a lot of us will be rethinking our alarm systems now.

i currently have a boomereang system installed in my h1 hummer

ive been using them in heavy equipment as well

they have a boomerang and boomerang 2 system which has a key fob that needs to be in truck while its moving

the benefit to this system is it 24/7 surveillance and will call your cell or whatever contact number you have if it picks up any activity

its almost like a silent killer for car thieves

i currently use a gentleman from securequip to do installs and going to arrange a group discount price in the next few days

if anyones interested in a tracking system pls call or email

dndriley@hotmail.com

or call 226 218 4711

thanx in advance

this would be great and if I am correct, they are North American wide....not 100% sure but would be great to have someone from Boomerang contact us and give us the information that we can pass over to all of you, as well as any other organization..a group buy/ sponsorship for all our members would be great!!

No luck so far that I am aware of... the word has spread fast thanks to CHC members and close friends of our community... it is on every Hummer or 4WD related forum out there, if someone is stupid enough to drive it around... they will be seen.. I just hope that Cavan gets his truck back and happy that CHC can play a part in assisting by spreading the word!

A scuttling device similar to what the military uses when assetts are unsecured in the field is the best way to deal with these punks. Im not saying blow up the whole truck but a small cabin charge could easily incapacitate or affixiate would be thieves and still leave the truck in repairable condition.

There are many options

Cabin Tazor

Flower Bomb

ECM eprom destruct

diff pins

or how about the steering column pistol???

Fantasy yes, but if this kind of stuff keeps up who knows!!!
