Re: Oil Pressure in H1

first it depends on what you mean by fluctuating. Does it change with RPM? Or does it twitch at idle? Does it go to both extremes??? If presuure rises and falls with rpm...this is normal! If it twitches at idle your oil may be thick and dirty and needing a change. If it is doing it's own thing with erratic readings then check your ground, it may be loose or the sender could be dying, also your engine could be low on oil pressure...normally accompanied by very bad noises. If you are sure that your lift pump is working( you hear it or feel it) then you should hear it priming the fuel system once the engine is shutdown, this is because the fuel pump uses an engine oil pressure controlled on and off switch. So if you hear the lift pump for a couple of seconds after shutdown then you at least know there is some pressure...remember the only way to know how much is with a gauge...not the one in the dash!<DIV> </DIV><DIV>Most of the time though the gauges do weird things due to poor electrical connections!</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Kevin</DIV>
